What to do with a crate of slaves...

I recently had a mission where as a Minmatar I killed an Ammar slave ship and amongst the loot was a crate of 10 slaves. Being in High Sec I couldn't take them in without security issues, and frankly slavery is anathema to me as well as my character (considering the race). So I was forced to leave the crate and basically consign the hapless people to die slowly in space.

Is there a better way to do this? Can the game add some role playing options to make these crates of people (and others, such as marines, scientists, etc) more useful? For instance, what if I could have collected the crate and turned it into an agent in Minmatar space for a standing boost? How about having a storyline option where these people are collected and taken to a specific planet as new colonists? Seems like a lot of story potential here, as well as an "Underground Railroad" from slave systems to free systems, etc.

I've seen this come up so many times with no answer from the devs, I wish you better luck.

If anything I'd like to see all of the Humanoid "livestock" fixed, making it only a customs violation if you cross empire borders with contraband livestock.

Make them an item you can turn in to the appropriate faction for a small standing boost with either the appropriate faction or corp, perhaps 100 units for whatever tick increase CCP thinks is appropriate:
Amarr +slaves/slaver hounds
Caldari +militants/janitors
Gallente +strippers/tourists
Minmatar +militants/slaves

Additionally, you could turn in the respective national enemy "marine" units in the same way, i.e., turn in all of those Caldari Marines to the FIO for interrogation. Lol

And for crossing the border with contraband livestock and equal standing tick loss.

The things we do today we must live with forever.... Think about it

I think there could be some really fun storyline missions along this idea. Imagine getting a mission to sneak into Ammar space, hit a slave convoy, rescue the slaves and return them to an agent in Minmatar space. There could be a whole running system for this, including non-agent missions where people just work those type missions for standing, LP, etc. Maybe ISK, though that might be considered blood money...

if you scoop them and then jettison them from a roleplay perspective you can assume that for the sakes of the slaves you've given them an escape pod to carry them to the nearest planet (i'm mean whenever i found slaves i jettisoned them and then blew them up)

Yeah, I just set up some apartments in a giant secure container in my Iteron to house the wayward people I pick up. I figure those things are roomy enough, they dont eat much, and they can leave whenever they want.
