Let's not count our blessings before the holy water lands upon our heads. It is still up to the pilots on the front line to make a victory out of such an event.

Civil wars within militias are yearly ordeals from my experience.

I apologize. I was unaware of these conflicts. Did they extend to cripple the most loyal Amarr Militia factions' credibility via acts of piracy, causing allies to be forced to take them out?

Yes, they did. Death by Design still resides in Kamela but will likely never join the Amarr militia again. Ushra'Khan was arguably forced out of the warzone by LNA, while Locus Industries collapsed.

Very often, it's the curse of success in faction warfare, it seems. When the forces dominating the field realize how little they're being compensated relative to nullsec corporations, someone is going to decide on a more profitable venture. Sort of the same issue empires have regarding their ability to fall into war over and over again, it doesn't take many people to polarize opinions, but it takes a lot of people to normalize relations.

How unfortunate. I pray that PIE does not fall to the same temptation when they gain territory.

That, I assure you Lord Draconis, will never happen.

And I just noticed that all three of us have crossed arms in our pilot portraits. Not sure why that amused me so much.

Fascinating. According to a books I once read about posture, it could mean "defensiveness" or• "it may indicate that the person is (slightly) reserved, uncomfortable with their appearance (self-conscious and trying to cover it), or just trying to hide something on their shirt. If their arms are crossed while their feet are shoulder width or wider apart, this is a position of toughness or authority." I'll have to expand the pictures and see about that last part! Purely for observational purposes of course.

Reserved?
Perhaps.

Defensive or self-conscious?
No.

Toughness or Authority?
Does it show?

I was eating chips and salsa before the photographer called me in and whadayaknow I got some on my shirt.

I'm using my pilot's license portrait. The particular station I had the picture taken at told me to cross my arms so that they could register my build and turned me slightly so that I could be recognized in profile as well as in portrait.

So... my arms are crossed so that CONCORD can tell if I rob a convenience store.

In training I was taught to recognise this as a posture indicating an unwillingness to share information. Usually perpe... I mean suspects... utilising this bodylanguage must be watched for potential violent outbursts during questioning.

For the first time since I started the conversation, he looks me dead in the eye. In his gaze are steel jackhammers, quiet vengeance, a hundred thousand orbital bombs frozen in still life.

When I am unwilling to share information, I just become a smartass. No defensive posture neededLol

What are the official guidelines on it? People normally just get angry and try to pod me....

The OP of this thread also has his arms crossed, if you notice. Although his position is... shall we say, unorthodox?

He honestly looks like he is about to feint. Like someone had clobbered his head and his arms haven't fallen yet.

Official guidelines call for placing the recalcitrant smart ass in various stress positions, followed by sleep deprivation and other enhanced interrogation techniques. A couple of thousand volts usually wipe that attitude away.
