CNR needs a buff?

I bought one on a whim yesterday from a corpie without really knowing what I wanted to do with it. So I fired up EFT and started plugging numbers into it and much to my surprise it does exactly the same damage as a stock Raven. I'm kind of at a loss, in what way is the CNR any better than a stock Raven now?

It seems like it could stand to have it's ROF bonus re-instated, or some other missile dmg buff of some sort.

One fits 8 Launchers and the other 6. Navy has better damage application.

Raven gets an ROF buff CNR does not. Equals out to the same DPS with cruise.

Same DPS, however the CNR gets a missile explosion bonus which improves applied damage.

On a side note, due to tiericide all the missile battleships do the same DPS (except for the TFI which does a tiny bit more.)

Pon Farr Memorial: once every 7 years, all the carebears in high-sec must PvP or they will be temp-banned.

Yeah I realized that right after I posted. I guess you were too fast for my edit. I would suggest using EFT first in the future before buying on a whim I guess.

Because selling it again is so hard?

- more speed(quite nice if you mwd fit it, like I do)
- better dps by a extra sentry(extra drone bay)
- extra fittings(more or less a moot point, because it has to fit 2 more launchers)
- better applied dps against cruisers and frigs by the extra application bonus
- higher scan resolution, what is quite handy, because you will lock a awful lot of stuff
- more shield hp, giving you more ease in high dps situations, more armor and structure giving you more survivability in a SHTF situation or against suicide ganks
- higher sensor strength, resulting in less jamming if you run gurista stuff
- higher alpha(8 vs 6 launchers worth of alpha), better dps if you figure in reload times(since it doesn't got the ROF bonus)

Overall it is a fairly nice upgrade. It just could use a bit more fitting for Torp fittings, but this was done to death in the BS rebalance thread.

Raven, CNR, SNI and Golem have exactly the same base DPS. CNR and Golem have a much higher alpha (making some min maxing dual targeting setups viable), as well as application and projection bonuses. SNI has a tank bonus and Raven a projection bonus.

A CNR will run missions much faster than a Raven, if you have the skill to use it properly. Blink

To add to this; a CNR will also start to pull ahead even more once you start using Fury ammo.
