PLEX through Steam

I posted earlier on payment through Steam for the game while keeping trial account info. Much to my disappointment, I ended up having a friend use his PayPal. However, I figured I would buy a PLEX to get me started in the game, and I was told I could through Steam. So my discontent, once again, I had to own the Steam Eve Starter pack just to buy PLEX. This is absolutely stupid and I think it is a marketing failure. 70% of Eve users probably have a Steam. Not being able to buy PLEX through Steam without having 'their version' is dumb. When you buy it, it should send a code via email, and you redeem it. Simple. There is so much market potential here, and Eve devs and Steam should both see that.

Congrats on making it here, you bloody trolls. Done making fools of yourselves or are you just getting started?

Anything wrong with steam?

Now, more than ever, we need a dislike button.

I got the notification. I ignored it seeing how irrelevant the comment was. Anyways, I think this point should be brought up and debated. The games itself and Steam arent exactly friends, however the PLEX through Steam should not require you to have bought the Steam starter pack.

Well that to me is more CCPs fault, maybe its not though I don't know enough about it.

Regardless of fault, it should be addressed.

If you have those who prefer the digital interactions (such as Steam) then it should be an option, especially see as how EVE is a mostly digital interaction subscription.

Why don't you just buy it from the account management page like everyone else?

It might be he does not have a CC, or the card he has won't allow him to use it overseas. For example, in the US there are gift cards of Visa/Master/AmEx that function for all intents and purposes like an actual CC of their respective type, with the exceptions of limited funds (obvious by their gift card nature) and their complete inability to be used on any merchant sites that are not based in the United States. They work on Steam and Amazon, but not on CCP.

At some point I heard you could buy game codes the old fashioned way, go to store buy little card scratch enter code or something.
But I don't know if it's true, I just used plex or shattered crystals or spmething.

For guys like me dont have a CC or PayPal as stated before, Steam makes life easier. Pay a 20$ flat rate and purchase wallet money. The problem is that you have to buy the Starter Pack before you can normally buy PLEX.

At some point, and maybe even now, you could buy the cards. However I couldnt find any at BestBuy, Walmart, Gamestop, HH Greg, or Frye's.

I don't know how you pay Steam, but isn't there some (reputable) US site where you can buy game codes (or plex) using same method? I don't know if anyone else than Amazon sells plexes, but GTCs used to be sold by several 3rd parties. Maybe you can find one suitable that also looks safe enough.

edit: read through this list perhaps any of them can help?
