Can't download EvE client

I went to log on yesterday and the launcher was acting very slow - hanging on the step 1/4 validation process for a long time before finally quitting and giving me a lengthy error text (which the forums won't let me post here). After a couple of tries and an attempt at using the Repair Tool (which also gave me an error), I decided to do a manual download of the patch.

It worked at first and I was able to log on but when I got in-game it was very slow and a bunch of my windows were missing/showing up empty. Suddenly the client crashed and I received a "socked closed" error. I tried to log on again but the launcher reverted to doing what it had been doing in the beginning (hanging, error, etc).

So, I decided to save my settings, uninstall the client and re-download it from the web site. When I began the download process the Chrome downloader showed the download progress up until "1 minute remaining" and then froze. It freezes for a long time and then says "unknown network error". I've tried:

-Rebooting the computer.
-Rebooting the modem.
-I removed my AVG anti-virus
-As I mentioned above, I did a manual download of the patch and used the Repair Tool

I'm at a real loss right now and a bit frustrated that even a wholesale re-install isn't working.

Any help would be great.

PS: I'm not ultra computer literate, so technical explanations will need to be simple or thorough.

-Tried the offline downloader
-Tried downloading using Explorer

the same thing also for me ,... from the last pattch... w8ting fora an answere.. just that i am w8ting this answere from 4 days ago .. hmmmm

if it helps same here, my launcher crashed while updating the client. now it can not successfully download the new patch and the repair tool quits unexpectedly, i tried manually downloading the patch and it does not matter what i use it can not find the page, this is BOTH on MAC and Windows, i can not even re-download a fresh client!

Hi,

I have a similar issue

Game Launcher in v.2.1.655130 stops at step 2/4 CREATING EVE_ONLINE_0-710875_WIN.PATCH
The 0 in front of downloading version is since I run the repair tool which seems strange to me.
It goes up to 124.54 MB / 858.45 MB and then nothing..

Repair tool same thing, it just get's stuck after a while and can't continue.

Test server patch worked fine.

Don't know how to login now for some days already and nothing seems to work.
Please advice

EDIT:
After a while it went up to 100% of 3/4 but when logging in the 'Play' button is still grey.
