there shouldn't be any way to loose SP.

https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=174097 Separate all 4 empires in eve with lowsec.

Loosing SP...are you mad?

After nearly 8 years of play i still got a wishlist stretching at least 3 years of max speed training. And after that there is still plenty of years to add to that!

Put that into perspective of the average human lifespan, and remember this is a game!

it ain't hard to see how shockingly slow acquiring skills goes. I'd say no SP loss without significantly faster training!

I am serious!

When you think about it losing SP is incredibly hard to do in this game, and it is far too easy to train all your skills and have nothing left to do in EVE.

When you lose a ship you should lose 5% of your total SP

When you lose a pod you should lose 15% of your total SP

This would provide interesting diversity to SP gains, this would be a considerable blow against power-creep.

Additionally it would empower new players to have a chance.

ludo-narrative dissonance would be addressed in this manner as well.

This would be good for EVE.

Your idea is good, but still needs some work. My counter-proposal:

-Losing a non-cap ship costs you 25% of your total SP
-Losing a pod costs you all your SP, also there is a small chance your clone-revival goes awry. Then your character is permanently deleted.
-Losing a cap ship costs you 99% of your total SP.
-Losing a supercap costs you all your SP, all skills get erased and CONCORD takes 50% of your ISK as additional punishment (death to supercaps).

This should address all the ludo-narrative dissonances even better!

I'm sorry but no that's terrible because you're playing the game wrong.

The game is not about skill training, that is exactly why skill training is passive. The only way to lose SP is through stupidity of either
A: not training a skill
B: not upgrading a clone
or C: the only one you can actively choose to lose SP via flying a T3 and getting blown up however it is limited to the T3 skills

And that's more then enough because the game isn't about how you're character can get dumber and do less. It's about how you can apply those skills to activities in the sandbox.

Just because PL can replace the largest slaughter ever does not mean the game is broken. It just means that a warchest that has been accumulating isk practically since eves creation has finally be used.

That doesn't even account for the time to rebuild the lost ships or the logistics chain that is broken or must be reorganized. Just because ships can be replaced and were does not mean the game is broke.

I'm not exactly well known for posting great new ideas in here either, but I hope we are all clear on the fact that Skill Training Online is probably just a toon he uses to see how much he annoys people?

That's where he suggested that if you can get 100 people into a single mission, the mission should auto-complete. I'm pretty sure that after reading that gem you might just stop putting replies in threads he starts, but heck, I'm breaking my own rule in posting now Lol

I'm not necessarily saying he's trolling, but I am implying that he might be just using a RNG to "create" ideas. Someone take away his infinite monkeys please.

! ! ! C V A ! ! !

Not really sure what that meant.

I have a mate in CVA and the only way for me to fly around Provi without being shot at (because of having tested FW at one point) was join CVA. It's quite colorful down there, but unfortunately my play time is what it is and was unable to make full use of the region.

I apparently have no idea what I'm doing.
