Jump Drive wormholes

Whenever a capital ship uses it's jump drive a wormhole with infinite mass that accepts all subcaps (Maybe capitals) will open for 5-10 seconds depending on the ships size.

This wormhole will take you directly to where the capital ship landed.

The wormhole will be fairly small and appear at where the capital's center is, so if a titan were to jump out, any nearby ships would still have to burn to where the center of the titan was, so a heavy dictor could not easily follow it if it had it's bubble up, but maybe a frigate with a cyno fitted could.

Because force projection needs to be easier?

Now you'll be able to send your fleet 14.625ly in a single jump, simply by jumping a JDC V carrier and sending everybody through the wormhole--and you don't even need any fuel! Those pesky titan bridges require fuel and only have half the range!

Ok then add a mass limit.

Dude this exists in the game, its a titans jump bridge, or the black ops jump bridge that can send covops.
I know you jsut watched some macross 7 and you want to see a big ship jump and drag all the smaller ones around it with it, but that would make the ligistics of moving huge fleets ingame too easy.

Only way I could possibly accept this idea, is if there were about a
25% chance of actually getting to your destination,
25% of landing somewhere near where you wanted, and possibly in "interstellar space" between systems, and having to spend hours at warp speed attempting to make it to an actual system. (3au/sec is 1 ly/6hrs about, so get some popcorn, chop chop)
25% of landing... anywhere, this include HS, where your unauthorized caps will get attacked by the empires, or your ship would still have to spend a day getting back to civilization.
25% chance you just blow up instantly.

Could be !!FUN!! that way.

Yeah no. Game doesn't need anymore jumping ships.

That isn't very helpful to anyone.

Never saw that one.

Actually the idea isn't for fleet movements but more of a way to chase down enemy capitals.

Then like someone else said. make sure you have a good point on it before dropping on it.

At the same time, would you really want to chase lone caps through their jumps? Seems to me like there would be bait caps here and there now, jumping straight into large camps hoping to drag chasers in.
