Boarding a ship while its locked?

So basically last time i check you could NOT board a ship while it was locked and now you can?

We just tested this out due to a suicide gank which happened and the way they saved their freighter which had a suspect timer.

So now apparently you can eject out of the freighter while the pilot has a suspect timer. With this you can then have a pilot who does not have a suspect timer jump into the freighter and completely null the suspect timer on the ship that the pilot jumped into which gives them a free warp.

TLDR:

You can now board ships while locked (intended? last time i checked you couldn't unless i'm missing something in the last few updates.)

You can now invalidate suspect timer on a ship by ejecting then have someone who does not have a timer jump in.

These mechanics are totally broken and need to be fixed. you should not be able to get past suspect timers like that. and pilots should not be able to board **** that is locked already ...

I suggest a petition, two in fact. One about them exploiting it specifically. And one about a general bug report.

Pretty sure that it is the PILOT not the SHIP that has the suspect timer. After all, the ship is not the one that did bad things. Do the cops arrest the car that was speeding? Or the driver?

Good work on not actually reading the thread Jamagh...

Issue - in the past you have been unable to board an locked ship. Now, it appears you can.

Consequence - a suspect / WT can now save their shiny ship by ejecting and having an unflagged mate hop in. Something they could not do before.

Query - is this intended?

Frak all do with cops and car chases, or tenuous "real world" analogies no matter how many CAPS you put in.

THEY CAN STILL BOARD A LOCKED SHIP IF THEY'RE THE OWNER

gawddamn k-spacers need to lrn2experiment...

EDIT: bro, ur not even a k--spacer. much disappoint.

There's nothing worse than an EVE player, generally considered to be top of the food chain in the MMO world, that cannot smacktalk with wit and coherency.

That sounds messed up, if that's really true then it's a result of CCP Greyscale's "I can't code and I'm a carebear" amazing crimewatch being silly from the get go.

Are you 100% certain they didn't just lose the suspect timer? Because I do that all the time.

EDIT: reread, that's just mechanics for you. win some lose some.

I'm not trolling, it's drunk t+5 hours and I can't be arsed to read first. You didn't answer my question though, just got butthurt. Sad

Not butt hurt at all.

All im saying is. basically you can just invalidate a suspect timer on a ship by just having a non-suspect pilot jump in. This is kinda bull **** for suicide ganking.

You didn't ask a question, you said that ships that are locked can be boarded by their owner, except this wasn't the owner, it was a completely different pilot

"We just tested this out due to a suicide gank which happened and the way they saved their freighter which had a suspect timer. "

Can you clarify this please. You don't get suspect flagged for being attacked (gank or otherwise), and you don't get ConCorded for attacking a suspect.

My understanding of the events was:

Freighter gets ganked.
Neutral freighter warps in as usual.
Loot is scooped.
EOL pilots on scene with the flashy freighter lock it.
Suspect pilot ejects.
New pilot boards the locked freighter.
Freighter is no longer flashy.

It's the "boarding a locked ship" that I believe they're confused about, because, as far as we know, that's supposed to be impossible per game mechanics.

Can you hear them? They are calling to us. It is beautiful. http://thegreattichim.wordpress.com/
