Hey there guy's me yet again I seem to be posting an awful lot are all noobs like this? I do hope so haha.

So almost a week into EVE and I'm still here must be going well surely? Today I finished the exploration tutorial and well I quite like the idea of being some form of treasure hunter in space! The tutorial deep provide me with pretty decent understanding of the scanning process. Yet when I tried to give the thing a go outside of the tutorial all I could find.... were training sites?

How far do you have to go to find actual Relic/gas sites?

Is there career to be found in exploration like am I likely to find a corp who spend most of their time exploring the big black!

I was also told to check out the scanning tutorials on youtube? Would anyone be able to link some decent tutorials pretty please!

Once again I appreciate all your help.

Trigger.

Nope. If only more newbs were like you and would use the forums and ask their questions.

As for scanning, in tutorial system you will likely only find training sites. Move out to other places to find the real deal. Just keep in mind that you have to be lucky and you are dealing with competitors (other explorers).

Just search "EVE Online scanning tutorial" on youtube and it should give you plenty of videos.

to add to the advice above: exploration is typically done alone. there are very few cases where having a buddy will pay off and most of them are pvp related. the upside is that you can be in any kind of corp you like and explore to your hearts content in your spare time.
exploration can be lucrative, but mostly outside of highsec. the problem with highsec exploration is that it is so ludicrously safe and easy that everyone is doing it, driving loot prices down into the ground.

I should buy an Ishtar.

Treat highsec sites as training for the technical skills of probing.

Once you have those down pat, practice doing them while constantly warping from place to place. Once you can scan a signature down without remaining on grid for more than five seconds, you are ready for lowsec exploration, which is much more lucrative.

Don't be surprised by seemingly low ISK gained at first. Exploration is a game of chance: the money is not in each and every site paying out, but in that one site a week that makes you a fortune.

Disregard this if you are scanning in highsec, your rewards will be bad no matter what. As Sabriz said, use highsec only as a practice for your probing skills. If you want to make serious money from exploration, you definitely have to go to nullsec. Don't worry, with a proper ship and a covert ops cloak you're nearly uncatchable if you're paying attention.
