OMNIDIRECTIONAL Tracking Link Changes

I fly a drone Dominix (is there any other) and im really new at EVE 4 months old- and the changes to the omnidirectional tracking link has got me flubbed.
I think the passive was increase to drone optimal range and tracking - and it was calculated and reflected when I looked at my drone info.
Now whether it is active or not, my drone optimal range doesn't change.
Very disheartening as now I don't really know what my op range is.
is this a bug in code? since the module is now an active mod and not passive?

I'm very sorry to say this to a new player, but the the sad fact is that there is no in-game system that will properly tell you your final, calculated, actual, honest-to-goodnes for-real drone stats. Fitting window, show info, all that stuff will be inaccurate.

Get a third party fitting tool such as EFT.

Pyfa might be updated by now; haven't checked. EFT should be in shape in a few days if Gripen's last few turnaround times are any indication.

Oh yeah. My bad. I've been doing calculations by hand.

Errr, what about undock, activate modules, right click drones in your bay chose show info, all the bonuses will be added properly and it will show you your "new" optimal, falloff, damage modifier etc.

I think the new Omridirectionals are broken at the moment.
The method mentioned above used to work for the old, passive ones. It is not working any longer.
I did a mission with my rattlesnake and tested a little and came to the conclusion that the modules are just not doing what the are supposed to, hence its not a problem about seeing the effects on the drones, but a problem about having those effects in general.

Already tried that too, and the values do not change, no matter if the module is active or not. Well, hopefully Gripen will update EFT within the next few days.

Might be so, might not. Problem is, the view does not display changes in optimal/falloff/tracking of the drones, so there is no way other than manually calculating them at the moment.

It used to be that if you were floating in space, you could go to your drone pane -> select drone -> show info and know your range, your tracking accurately enough. Now that the omni is an activated module, this no longer works.

I concur, this is what started my forum post, though- as this doesn't work / have any effect any more.
When they were passive you could see the difference when you brought the tracking links online.

I guess the more pressing question is - is it just the numbers display that is inactive? or are the links not working at all.

I can confirm that they do work as intended.

It amazes me how many people cannot do those calcs on a napkin anymore. Sad
