While I'm planning to stay in FW for some time, I've run out of FW related things to train for. Since wormholes are what I plan to do next, what ships/modules should I train in preparation ?

Scanning skills. maybe pos gunning, otherwise just fly ships to suit situations.

scanning skills, blockade runner (prowler), t3s, missiles, guns, drones, dominixes, carriers, dreads, orcas, HICs, pos gunning,

CovOps frigates + Scanning skills, Armor T3 (Loki if you wish to make some ISK in higher class wormholes), Dreads, Carriers.

Why the prowler instead of the other blockade runners ?

Which HiC, carrier and dread would be best to train for ?
I've already got Amarr cruiser 5 and training for a Loki requires Minmatar cruisers. So those HiCs will train quicker than the others.

I still need to have ships trained in order to fly them.

There is no real best ship, If the group you join flies armour then bringing a draek will look bad mhmk... :P

Trolling aside, any T3 will always be welcome, SB's as well, any hics/dics that fit doctrines. You have ammar cruiser 5? train a guardian. They're a pound a penny in WH's as armor fleets are common pvp fleets, and who says no to logi?

PVE wise higher class wh groups will use dreads/carrier. Archons are top dogs in that respect (again if they fly armor) moros/naglfar/revelation are more or less the same.

Bhaals are great neut boats,

If you're already in amarr just stick with em, they have amazing ships... like all of them....

What does the Orca get used for ?

Looking at the description, it looks like it's going to be used for off grind boosting. Which doesn't seem a very interesting thing to do on my main.

Here is what i would train for in order of importance, based on a typical WH PVP Corp but not limited to:

* Covert Ops - lvl 4 scan skills accross the board
* T3 - which ever you want to fly, or you have best support skills for
* Logi
* Support ships, HIC's etc...
* Carrier / Dread

It really does vary for each corp and what you want to do. For small gang stuff, maybe you want to go for something other than T3? Like recons, cloaky stuff if your sneaky like that.

If you're planning to stay for a while, POS gunnery is a must. Your POS is rubbish without people on the guns.

Covert Ops for scanning.

Logistics are important for POS repairs if attacked.

T3 Cruiser for sites, personally i'd vote for the Tengu.

Carrier/Dread if you are hitting C5 or higher.

Everything else is secondary and optional. Mining, manufacturing, PI, research, reverse engineering all have their associated skills. What you want to do, and what you are trained to fly, will be a big factor in what you choose to train towards.

Post with your main, like a BOSS!

And no, i don't live in highsec.  As if that would make your opinion any less wrong.

If you have significant amount of SP, go for higher class PVP oriented group and have fun.

Dreads in order: Moros/Naglfar, Revelation, NO you can't use your Phoenix.
Carriers: Archon and nothing else except Thanatos in some PVP, i hope you are not aiming for Shield because there are no much uses of Shield in wormholes except a Naglfar maybe
T3's: All
HIC's: Devoter/Phobos in 95% of situations
Logi: Guardian/Oneiros for armor, Scimitar for some roams probably, Basilisk is pretty rare tho except in C4 farming..

Train up PI and mining frigate. PI and gassing are the only true reasons to be in wh space.

On a serious note - Orca requires mining director be trained to 5. I could literally fly every non titan in the game well before I got around to training up for an orca. If you have an indy character it's pretty easy, but putting mining director 5 on your skill sheet should make you feel kind of .... dirty. (just mutter something about working on heavy interdictors 5 when they ask if you can fly an orca then quickly start scanning a new chain).

Ignore everyone else in this thread.

Get the bare minimum scanning skills and attach a t1 probe launcher to your drake. The wormholes you are after should be deep red when you jump through them, they are the easiest by far to solo.

Everyone else here is making you waste time training fluffy skills... Astrometic Pinpointing? No thanks... Caldari Dreadnought? Yeah buddy.

It doesn't really matter what you train into specifically. Other than a co-ops. And you don't say how many SP you have, so I'll assume ~10M

Wormholes are more a frame of mind. You have to like scanning. A lot. And being isolated. Jita is very very rarely 6 jumps away.

But if your mind's made up go chat in notable wormhole corps public channels. Some fly shield ships, some armour. Some both. So look, ask and get an idea first as you'll feel a bit bad if you train into a perfect Tengu and then find the corp you want to join live in a Wolf Rayet.

So ask around - see which corps appeal to you. Find out what ships they fly. Train into those. Sometimes people are so keen to get into wormholes they can't participate fully in corp activities. For example, flying a perfect Noctis is useful, but boy are you going to get bored if that's all you can do. So make sure you have a broad base of skills. Cov Ops, Inty, Hacs, Hics, Bombers, Orca, Industrials, T3's, Tier 3 BC's, Recons - all used regularly by most WH corps. Shield and Armour.

For me it was Caldari and Amarr Hacs and Recons that kept things interesting until I could fly more interesting stuff. A Falcon or Curse are rarely unwelcome in a fleet. And neither are ECMgu's or Neut Legions. YMMV.

Firrst you need to define which corp you'll be joining. Once you sort that out, you need to see their minimum requirements and doctrines you need to fly. training for those is a good idea. As a more generalized set of skills, you need to have decent scanning skills, be able to shield and armor tank, and fly atleast a Proteous and a Legion/Loki/Tengu (everyone uses proteous, so the other 3 are optional, but you still want to fly at least 2 T3 ships).

This is as nice as I get. Best quote ever https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=4137165#post4137165
