Tractoring Capital Wrecks

So I lost a Rorqual today because welping caps is fun. After dying and coming back in a Noctis to

EDIT: Racial reference removed - ISD Tyrozan

I noticed that when I brought in the Rorq wreck it came in at exactly the same speed as bomber wrecks. Just seeing the entire wreck model coming at me as fast as it did and then abruptly stopping at 600 meters got me thinking . . . maybe capital wrecks should have a penalty for how fast they are able to be tractored, whether it being a percentage of the module speed or a set speed cap.

Or maybe this is just a bad idea and I'm a bad poster . . . I'm just throwing this idea out there.

Logically speaking, the mass of an object shouldn't affect the velocity of which it is tractored in because you are in space which is a vacuum with no air resistance so this is indeed possible.

But there is this thing about 'EVE being fluid space' and some other BS that magically stops a ship without reverse thrusters so anything is possible.

Maybe write it off as not so much of the mass that effects the speed, but the overall size of the wreck? Consider that changing the tractor to a wider beam would take from its towing potential, to spread it out over a wider area?

On a somewhat side note, what if the 4 general hull sizes (based off of rigs s,m,l,xl) required additional tractors to pull in? small takes 1, med takes 2, large takes 3, etc.

Or make capital tractors required to vacuum capital wrecks. Heaven forbid the lootmongers have to fly their comparatively tiny ship over to a wreck (or bookmark and rewarp) instead of somehow dragging something multiple magnitudes their own mass to their stationary ship.

But, then again, tractor beams through the lore use some sort of anti-mass magic, so meh.

Blanking signatures doesn't seem to work, so this is here.

Unless tractor beams break Newton's 3rd law (to understand how silly that sounds, consider that warp drives are thought by some to be possible), it should instead pull you towards the capital wreck, not the other way around.

(Technically it should pull both you and the wreck to your common center of mass at speeds proportional to your and the wreck's mass.)

I guess that'll teach me to explain physics when I should be sleeping. I apologize.

Marauders should be able to tractor frigates towards them in bastion mode.

By all logic the tractor beam should be pulling the noctis forward and not the wreck.

with the new capital wrecks in 1.1 i think capital wrecks and super wrecks shouldn't be tractor-able.

this way you have to approach them.. and gaze in aww at their majesty as you are dwarfed by their massive size.

It would also be very cool if subsequent salvagers that you activate on the new capital wrecks strike the wreck at different points.

I guess from an in game perspective, the Noctis isn't pulled towards the capital wreck because the Noctis' engines are compensating to maintain current position/heading.

That's what I was trying to say.
