Its been a bit now, can we have some feedback on the Mobile Tractor Unit. Things on like,
-whether or not the damn things are ever going to stop tractoring from each other?
-Whether we will ever be able to launch them for corp/fleet.
-Removing the 5km min distance restriction?
-Getting a "Scoop to cargo" option in the "selected item" window?
-Getting a "Loot All" option on the unit? Or have it so when you scoop it, it loots it as well.
-Removing/reducing the cooldown between launching one after the other?
-Ability to "special" it (something to make it stay at the top) in the cargo so you dont have to search for it in your cargo when you've got a load full.

I love these little things since between them and salvage drones, the amount of clicking when i fly my paladin has plummeted.
However, without these options, it makes running with an alt a pain the keister.

Also, in my opinion, the noctis was never very fun just because salvage isnt worth the amount of clicking and attention involved to get it.
^ In case you wanted to compare the salvage drones & Mobile Tractor Unit to the noctis.

If you like i can give more details on why the above is important, but I think they're pretty self evident.

The biggest by far though is the wreck juggling. Well and corp mates not being able to pick up yours.
If you guys (CCP) are happy with the way things are with it, let us know, so we can drop our heads in disappointment and stop beating the dead horse.
Thanks for your time.

Looting it when you scoop it is very much needed. Pain in the Ase.

Though I suspect the issue of them tractoring from eachother would be slightly complex to fix. Also I see no reason to encourage people to use more than 1 per mission, seems lazy.

Lazy, hmm, well i suppose it could be considered that, much like someone using a calculator rather then writing it out on paper. For me its about efficiency mixed with amount of attention needed. I prefer to focus on the shooting, maintaining a minimum of focus on the picking up.
It is less work to use a calculator, but it frees up time to focus on . . .something else (cant think of an example).

They're intended to always be slower than a noctis doing the same thing, so the wreck juggling is never going to go away. The small distance restriction being to help you not be stupid and double launch.

The other things are valid, if some of them minor. A loot all button wouldn't be bad, but it's really not that hard to use a second hand and flop it around on your keyboard until it hits Ctrl+A... you could even macro it to an extra mouse button if you want.

Even if they didnt juggle wrecks, they would still be slower by far then a noctis. But they would be less attention demanding then a noctis.
"help you not be stupid and double launch", if by that you mean launch more then one of these things to speed up the wreck gathering, then i think your missing the whole point of not wanting them to wreck juggle. Of course Im going to launch more then one, one is like watching paint dry, you launch as many as your salvage drones can keep up with. This is to reduce time it takes to clear a pocket, just launching one is a waste of time. If your just launching one, then a noctis is much much, pretty much blows the thing out of the water, faster. Its not the speed that I want, its the user friendliness that im after.

Another note on the noctis, if they really wanted to make the noctis the end all be all for loot and salvage clean up (which seems obvious since it is THE ship to do it) then why not give it a bonus to salvage drone use as well as the mobile tractor unit?
The Noctis is bad (for me), dont gimp other things just so they dont encroach on the bad ship.
^ disclaimer, the noctis is great at what it does, the only reason its bad is because it takes to much of your attention and gives to little (salvage being of small value).

Well, 1.1 has happened, still no change to the mobile tractor. Are these things as polished as you can get them, because to me it seems that they are half finished.

The sensible thing would be to have the MTU ignore anything that is already being tractored, whether that be from another MTU or from a ship.

Just getting them to start tractoring the furthest away wreck and move inwards would at least make Juggling the last thing to happen verses the current, tractor a couple of wrecks and then Juggle, ignoring the rest.

The other big thing that would do is make ship mounted tractor beams worthwhile, since you could manually tractor the close wrecks your own tractor can reach then, while the far away ones at the MTU range limit get grabbed by it.

"Being" or Been?

It seems like an easy fix to me, there is already programming that shows you what wreck/can you have already looked at. Once you've looked at a wreck/can, it gets darker in color, would it be that difficult to program the MTU trigger this "already been seen" indicator after its tractored it, then have the MTU NOT tractor wrecks that have been looked at already?

Also, cant stress this enough, LAUNCH FOR CORP, so I can drop a MTU, and my alt can pick it up when Ive moved on after clearing the room. "Launch for self" indicates that there is more then one launch option already, otherwise it would be just "Launch".
1.1 should of have had this fix.
