I joined RvB but the problem was, I was ready for that yet because I still wanted to do missions in order to make some ISK. My question is, are there other corporations other than RvB and Eve University?

Why can't you mission while in RvB? Pretty sure their line about discouraging such behavior is a joke, right? Last I checked they expected members to be relatively self-sufficient.

They seem like fun folks. And they can definitely spice up your mission running :)

Because someone will come and kill you? If not another RvB guy, then one of the multiple corps that are at war with them. So while it's not impossible to do missions, they have a much higher risk. If you are in RvB, it might actually be safer to go do missions in low-sec. (Plus, you get at least the higher rewards.)

Well, yeah. That's the fun part. Otherwise you're just grinding highsec missions.

I assumed that someone joining RvB wanted in on that kind of action. Apologies if I just ass-u-me'd.

Try this guide.

There are many corporations out there that accepts and trains new players even if its not their specialty, just make it clear your looking for one that is willing to help you Smile

Most pvp focussed entities expect you to be "financially independent" because they can't be bothered with that crap and because, generally, PVE fit ships tend to get blinged out which will look silly on the kill board. Most of the time till will involve alts (either for the money making part or for the pvp part) or in case of RvB you can join as often as you want. PVE for a week or two, rejoin RvB for a week or two, rinse repeat.

You could jump into FW to pvp and make isk. Get in from an npc corp, try it out, shop around for a FW corp if you stick around. You can joine and leave as much as you want while in the npc corp. Always something going on.

Nobody will prevent you from missioning while in RvB but it is a particular unwise move, considering that joining is only a matter of hours and the moment you are in you have access to this little thing called "Corpmembers in Space" or something which shows you exactly which systems your Corpmembers are in.

Now what IS an RvB member doing all alone in some remote star system a dozen or so jumps away from the normal battleground? Probably NOT looking for fights!
Actually mining might be even more safe than missioning since you don´t have to leave the system and can aways dock up if someone with that very noticable white star on red ground next to his name enters the system... IF said miner is awake and keeps an eye on local.

An alt on the same account is an option, to feed your RvB character. Sure, it'll eat some of your training time (unless you use plex for dual training).

Or a second account, if that's an option for you.

FW farming is an option. Although remember Mister Mittens.

Woo! CSM XI!

2 small quirks here:

1. RvB is not a teaching corp. They are new player friendly and won't mind helping anybody who has questions, they jsut don't actually teach people.

2. They are a full PvP community and thus you could expect PvP. Specially because their high profile also means lots of 3rd party wars.

This doesn't mean you can't or shouldn't mission while in RvB but it will be a bit harder.

Other then EVE-Uni I don't know any other corporation that specifically exist to teach new players. There are a lot of new player friendly corporations though that won't mind helping you getting your feet under you, but they usually are just build to specifically teach.

IMO you should stay with RvB.

Moving to a pure PvE role, while safe, will teach you bad habits. You will become reliant on safety and unable to operate in a hostile environment.

Practice for a while doing level 1 or 2 missions. That why you can earn back you mission ship in an hour or two - so you wont be scared to lose them. Eventually you will know exactly when there is danger.

One of the biggest mistakes I made when starting EVE was thinking I needed to PvE for x months before starting PvP. The great thing about EVE is your ready to PvP in just a few days in a frigate (People still use frigates after playing for years, so your at no real disadvantage).
