Anybody want to sponsor a beginner?

I'm looking for someone to invest in me. I am brand new to this game, but not to the genre. Essentially, I am looking for an investment of 1M ISK to begin trading with. Ideally, I would be able to return to you 2M ISK in a reasonable time period. I do not think that this is a ridiculous request, as some of you fly around in ships worth billions of ISK.

I think that you should give me seed money because:

1) I have extensive experience with MMO markets, one of which was Runescape, in which I amassed a net worth of over $10,000 USD.

2) I am smart, understand markets, and know how to Excel. I can't provide proof, but I did just get a job as an investment banking analyst at a top firm which should show you that I am capable.

I am sure someone will send you some cash, but I wanted to point out that you will have more than 2M just by finishing the tutorials, which are worth your time. (I may be misremembering and I may have hit the multimillion mark during the newbie quest arc for SoE, but that is well worth your time too!)

First of this thread might get locked because it can count as "begging" which is frowned upon in this forum section.

Second. . Your not asking for much and honestly it wouldn't surprise me if someone gives you the ISK, and I wanted to wish you good luck Smile

Third. . There really is no other game like EVE (just because it's an MMO it's not the same game our even similar). The market can make you rich, or leave you broke. Have fun with it but realize that you might find that trading in EVE is not for you even if you did it in other games.

Oh and watch out for contract scams Lol

After hearing how evil EVE players can be, the first thing i did was look up common scams. I will not allow myself to be contract scammed lol.

Confirming you should run the training missions.

You will get around 20 million ISK worth of stuff (IIRC) from running all the arcs including the Sisters of Eve one. You'll also get a fair amount of experience with the game interface.

Yeah 1m is about nothing in this game, for sure nothing to start a trading career. Some trader skill books are 20x that amount. And its not just the trading skills, but good to have a hauler and skills for that too. To sit in station and trade, you probably need 1b isk and a month or more for training.

Trust me as I'm currently about 7-8 missions into the SOE arc. I'm a relatively new player as well and after the tutorials, selling spoils from wrecks, doing a few buy and sells in the market, I easily gotten about 10 mil by my 10th game-day with about 1-2 hours game time each day. A few tutorials in you might feel 1 mil is hard to earn (like me) but just push on a little. You'll realise 1 mil is pocket change actually :)

By the way, being nice and friendly even in local chats and forums help. Make friends because you'll never know if you run into a kind pilot. I was casually chatting and one nice pilot gave me 20 mil to kick-start my career.

Most importantly have fun and enjoy the game! If by the end of tutorials you still feel 1 mil is a hard amount to achieve, I'll send you the 1 mil :)

Another option, if you are trying to fast-track starting trading, is just to sell a PLEX.

Spend ~$20USD for a PLEX to seed your start up ... should get you about 600,000,000 ISK pre-tax and brokerage fees.

I advice you to go to the Market Discussions part of the forum.

Good advice is already given above: The tutorial missions net you far more then one million Isk in cash and assets, so I advice you to finish them first. Even if you really only want to become a trader in this game, it is good to understand how the rest of the game works and what other players do. Understanding that also makes for better trade decisions. Like in any aspect of this game, knowledge is power...Blink

But as said, this is the wrong part of the forum to ask for a loan, so this thread gets a lock.
