What CCP needs to do as a first thing.

If you cannot loggin to overpopulated system, lets make a choice to load to neighborhood system. Like in Jita on primetime.

i just wanted to go to HED yesterday to observe the battle in cloaky. I couldnt jump in, i couldnt to login to EVE. I thought "ok its overpopulated i want to go out".. nope.. i had to wait until EVE morning (after the battle) to finaly log in the game. Simple "load to neighborhood system" would solve this problem.

Now,

According the battle. Its clearly a matter of fact that nowadays HW cannot drive such lagre 3800+ battles.

Few suggestion how to diversify players per several systems
.
If you want to destroy structures like HUBs or TCUs you need to destroy their (lets just name it) "power generators" which are located in neighborhood systems and they must be destroyed simultaneously.

This would prevent to load all players to just one system but diversify them to other 3-4.

And above all, remove drone assist.

Hahahaha no, this would be terribly broken. People would exploit this to get their ships to safety.

I can confirm that letting players teleport to neighboring systems' stations in null is a fantastic idea.

Also that requiring several small geographic areas to be attacked instead of one will totally solve the node problem. Because nobody will possible concentrate their forces against one section of an enemy that divides itself.

Neutral spectator... so you wanted to add to the load just to be a ****. Nice.

On the other issue, as has already been pointed out that won't really work. The only real solution (short of a complete backend overhaul of the server/network code) would be to lock the system in question, boot everyone out of it, and then have the GMs teleport in the fleets (which won't be allowed to exceed a predetermined size (500v500, 1000v1000, etc) likely with limits on numbers of carriers, etc.

Without a hardcap on participants (and until the server code is so modern and clean it can have an unlimited number of ships on grid) EVE players will always be pushing the limit of node death.

There are already at least 3 threads you could have contributed to. There is really no need to create your own thread about the same issue.

I got a better idea. On the log in screen, it shows where your ship is. If it's in space, then there should be a button to self-destruct your ship and pod, so you return to your home system.

Kind of like a "go back to start" button Big smile

Oh sorry that English is not my mother language Mr. perfect.
My proposal is about diversifying server load to more systems / nodes. Instead of debating this, you have debased my login solution and cherry-picked my grammar glitches.

But what can i expect from "engrish" nullsec elitist ,right?

And next time when someone suggest some improvements to game just send him directly to hell. (Maybe that's the reason why nullsec sucks so much.)

Until then, enjoy and cry more about 3800+ laggy fights. Blink

You feel offended by a lone single word, because it points out your spelling mistake. You know why spelling mistakes happen? Because those who make these mistakes don't improve themselves. They refuse to learn. Instead they insult others for pointing them at their mistakes, because it makes them mad that they aren't smart enough to make it better.

Horrible idea.
Why? I was in an Archon, couldn't log back in for 5 hours, 0510 local till around 1010 local.
If I could load a neighbouring system, I'd have either gotten my Archon killed or gotten it to safely.

This is very exploitable to say the very least and will likely never see the light of day in 0.0 engagements.

Is it true that half the issue is because Eve is still running off 10 year old Python code?

I dont see how it would work properly in a multi-threaded environment.

Im not a programmer but regardless of cost, would it be beneficial to have EVE reprogrammed into a newer and more efficient language?

Inb4 understanding that it would be like starting from scratch again to re-code eve in something like C++.

This proposal belongs in Feature & Ideas Discussion.
But as this proposal is neither new or original, it would get locked for redundancy.
So I might as well lock it here.

The rules:
16. Redundant and re-posted threads will be locked.

As a courtesy to other forum users, please search to see if there is a thread already open on the topic you wish to discuss. If so, please place your comments there instead. Multiple threads on the same subject clutter up the forums needlessly, causing good feedback and ideas to be lost. Please keep discussions regarding a topic to a single thread.

Also: 33. Posting of chat logs outside the Crime & Punishment forum channel is prohibited.

The posting of chat logs between player parties is prohibited on all forum channels of the EVE Online forums, with the exception of the Crime & Punishment Channel where they can be posted as part of stories in the Pirate Story Thread.
Specific rules regarding the omission of pilot names apply in this instance. Further details can be found in the rules stickies in the Crime & Punishment forum channel.

Posts breaking the above rule have been removed.
