Not a whine thread, but now might be a good time to un-NDA your technical road map and current infrastructure projects for EVE, you know, just so that while we do have to sit in 3 hour lag tunnels, we at least know what your working on so the forums don't go insane and blame you (CCP) for not doing anything... which, despite probably being untrue, certainly appears that way

Look for 'Brain in a box' for Eve. That and the Destiny dispatcher are the next big changes coming for expanding the possibilities of what Eve will handle.

They're "when it's ready" projects.

I would really love to be able to give that answer to my boss when he asks about progress and release plans but you know, bills won't pay themselves...

If you have a boss who will tell your customers that something will be released on a specific date, and will not change that date come hell or high water, I feel sorry for your company.

Sometimes dates change and customers understand why because we give them actual explanation and updates on project status whether there are problems leading to delays or everything goes great and on time. They get invoices each month which they pay on time, they should know what is going on and how resources are allocated. Is that bad practice? I don't know, nobody creates ragequit threads on our forums.

No, it doesn't and it doesn't.

I have also removed some rule breaking posts and those quoting them.
The rules:
5. Trolling is prohibited.

Trolling is a defined as a post that is deliberately designed for the purpose of angering and insulting other players in an attempt to incite retaliation or an emotional response. Posts of this nature are disruptive, often abusive and do not contribute to the sense of community that CCP promote.

26. Off-topic posting is prohibited.

Off-topic posting is permitted within reason, as sometimes a single comment may color or lighten the tone of discussion. However, excessive posting of off-topic remarks in an attempt to derail a thread may result in the thread being locked, or a forum warning being issued.

unfortunately that is 1 server devblog out 138 for the entire of 2013 and a post numbered 135 buried in the forums somewhere

so yeah not very easy to find and in-fact adds to my argument that for the average joe it appears that nothing is happening

I read all Dev Blogs that don't start with "Community Spotlight", watch all relevant fanfest videos, keep an eye on the server feedback forum and read most of the CSM mins as and when they come out. Yet the amount of info on server progression has been limited at best.

CCP have no intention of trying to reduce lag because,,,well I cannot come up with a sensible answer.

CCP are doing the best they can, that is all we are can ask and expect from them.

Every time CCP does something to fight lag, everyone brings more pilots to the fight. Absent a technological miracle, there is no economic solution to the problem.

I don't doubt that in the slightest, a commentary on progress would be nice though, even if it's once every 3 months.
Project Example: did a thing that broke something else, going to fix that now
Project Ron Burgundy: complete but going through extensive testing

that kinda thing, but with more words and graph porn

edit: lol can't say graph porn, since when did that become a rude word, it insinuates rude things I guess but still

From my understanding the current state of loading balancing on the server nodes is static. That is still someone freezes the node and moves the affected system to a dedicated node.

I've read that tranquility is ran on 280 single core processors. I'm sure I'm repeating what someone has already said however, it would be nice if the memory and processor load could be shifted dynamically.

Automatic load balancing

This says it better than I can.
