Camera view always moves too close to the ship on undock/gate jump

I've been hammering on re-introducing the Quafe / Gallente Pleasure station background or similiar cultural backgrounds for each race, for immersion, so I wanted to harp on a different subject this time:

Is there a way to stop the camera from resetting to 'ultra close / first person shooter' mode each time you use a star gate or undock? I often operate with the camera far from the ship in order to have a better perspective of the field, but rescrolling each time is an irritant.

That visual bug seems to be happening more often, lately. Jumping through a gate, I'm suddenly zoomed in to an ultra-close "looking at my pod" camera angle, regardless of my current ship size.

Nothing major to deal with, but is the underlying cause affecting other things?

It is odd.

My Domi looks like it is going to fall off the screen into my lap at times when I am undocking.

To make it worse, the Domi is seriously ugly and I do not want to have its ugly face near mine.

This happened for a while a few months ago, so whatever you did to fix it then CCP, please do it again.

Stop flying Gallente.

This seems to be a known issue.

Proper etiquette when you want to discuss a possible bug or issue is to search the forum for similar threads, especially the Issues, Workarounds & Localization forum, which exists specifically to discuss known issues (but isn't a substitute for filing a proper bug report, because no number of well-written, elaborate bug reports is too many), and also look through the known issues page on the wiki.

Do YOU like to undock?

I zoom out a lot too. Seen all the ships for years anyway. I agree with OP

I noticed having to spin the mousewheel like every jump these days. Pissed me off. Then again, the camera switching to a jump animation annoys me as well.

I remember the camera holding your zoomlevel in earlier EVE editions. That's better IMO

Hm. Interesting. How is that more efficiently? I need my forward/backwards buttons to go through formerly opened info and market windows... conflict?

It's just left click to spin your camera like normal and then hold down right click to zoom in and out. It's very fast and allows much greater camera control. I've never been affected or even noticed OP's problem, so I guess this method is superior.
