Hello All,

Let me preface this by saying that I am not necessarily a new player, but I have played this game almost entirely by myself. I actually know very little about this game compared to everyone else. Here's my conundrum.

I have been a miner this entire time. I have recently started moving into skills to use a Freighter class ship. I know nothing about trading, other then it's good to buy low and sell high. I really need someone to school me on the likes of trading. So if any experienced haulers wouldn't mind posting some tips/tricks/guides to this business, I would surely appreciate it. Please consider the fact that i'm a loner and a noob, but I am not usually an idiot. Any advice and help is welcome.

Feel free to put me on blast if necessary.

Thanks,

Downs

What a dedication, mining for 7 years! Also i see your CEO has history of mining in a Vexor in low-sec. Get yourself out of that corp ASAP! but i digress....

Type "EvE Online trading" in youtube or in google and start absorbing all the knowledge.

This is very good information, and I appreciate it. Perhaps I need to change the title as well. It appears I am looking to become a hauler (Space Trucker!) and not a trader. Sorry for my confusion.

Thanks,

If by the chance of having 2 accounts, look up Red Frog.

You can become a Red Frog freighter if you want to.
Or look at public courier contracts, but be aware of scams and traps.

When it comes to selling your goods, this is invaluable.

How to identify items to trade

This page is geared toward station trading, but I think it has a very useful description of the in-game market charts and how to interpret them. Having a good grasp of the market is the first step in being a successful hauler. Once you are able to identify an item station trading, you will be able to extend your knowledge to find good items to haul.

Alternatively, you can let other people do the research for you and look for public courier contracts. It's generally less lucrative, but you are less likely to get burned by the market. You are more likely to get burned by another player however, so use prudence. I'd recommend doing a few runs in an industrial before bringing out the freighter. This will get you used to the contract system and hopefully alert you to typical scams without too much ISK on the line.
