If CCP can't fix this crazy unplayeble lags then they should do something with sov mechanics. It a bad thing that people from all eve should fill up in one system. Now game turning to **** very fast.

WHat does it help that the node is still alive, but people not being able to login to the game ffs.

CCP could change this real fast.
They could revert to code from a few years ago where nodes crashed with less than 1,000 people in them.
So Hed-GP crashes?

Does the majority of Eve care? Nope.
Does the rest of non blob-sec, the majority of the sub base, carry one with IMPROVED game play (the systems around Hed are no treat right now, even high sec)? Yep.
Does blob-sec "adapt or die"? Yep, they will adapt.

This lag issue is a blob-sec problem, not an Eve problem. If CCP got that through their head, and ignored the cartel whiners, and focused on improving the rest of Eve, their sub rate would likely rise, not plateau or fall as the blogsphere is suggesting this week.

These node issues have **** all to do with the current flavor of the month. Unless you've been hiding under a rock for the past ten years, you should know that players have always tried to force as many ships into one system as possible because N + 1 = win.

Node crashes were a thing long before slowcats and drone assist dominated the field, and it will be a problem long after you get your beloved nerfs. It will continue because CFC, N3, and whatever coalitions come next will always try to stuff more ships into a system than the system can handle.

The only way to fix the issue is to make it unwise to simply bring more ships. Nerf the blob and you fix the lag.

How to do that, though, is the real question.

EDIT:

I don't mean to say players are the root cause of the problem. The root cause is a system of gameplay that encourages and rewards blobbing. The onus is not on the players to stop blobbing.

The onus is on CCP to change the game so that we not only don't want to blob, but we don't have to blob in order to win.

A sov system that encourages people to blob systems to shoot structures with more timers than a brothels' alarm clocks is the problem here, tidi doesn't help at all. allowing more people to pile into system whist the fight is ongoing from anywhere in the game.


It is NOTHING to do with Capital fleets.

Bring back POS spam sov.
