A part of me is a bit dismayed that while the EVE community can obviously tell this is a joke, people in real life can't tell that The Onion is always made up, and think its actually true...

Hilarious read, regardless. Even if my faith in humanity is wavering.

This is a game where drugged up pod pilots fly around the universe in crazy spaceships full of prostitutes, slaves and cigarettes. I fail to see how any of this could possibly come as a surprise to any of us...

I seem to remember a trailer of some sort, right around the crimewatch changes, that demonstrated CCP Dev's ability to outrun the 5-0.

This had me scared for a moment.

You see, if CCP was in the USA, and some senators son (that ain't me... sorry) got ganked, something like this would happen. That's how lawless it's getting here. So like a dog that's been kicked too many times, I cringed.

CCP Guard,

I understand that this is a very satirical response to the ideas coming from CCP lately...but satire is often used to show truth. Do the devs at CCP realize how terrible this last batch of ideas has been? Please don't make us deal with Space ATM's that can't be defended from an interceptor gang without suffering an overall ISK loss. (How many ratters would it take for that extra 5% to overcome a single pilot defending instead of ratting?)

If CCP wants to slow the isk faucet from null ratting (which your own economist says isn't an issue) in order to prevent inflation, then provide more things that are worth using buying, let us give you 3 plex to re-allocate our skillpoints of something. If you're trying to just straight up lower isk output then allow for null ratters to gain some LP instead of just ISK (perhaps this could be a useful POS module or deployable, bounties go to 80% and you get another 40% (so 120% total) in LP at 700 or 800 isk per LP conversion rate. This would drive down the cost of faction mods due to the influx of LP's, and make them more accessible for null sec alliances to start using in doctrine fits all while limiting the actual isk being dumped out of null sec anomalies. Let other NPC factions other than the 4 big sell us those deployables or POS modules.

I weep for the brutal assault this constitutes on the noble tradition of satire.

No laughs had. 2/10.

If the satire is more sensical then the subject being satirized, is it still satire?

The tears!

Seriously seems like an idea to bring EVE back to the lime light.

"I felt a great disturbance in the Force, as if thousands of neckbeards suddenly cried out in terror, and were suddenly silenced. I fear something terrible has happened."

There are good ships,

And wood ships,

And ships that sail the sea

But the best ships are Spaceships

Yes. The very best kind of satire possible, in fact.

There's actually no attempt being made to lower the ISK creation. The goal is to end up with the same amount, and the purpose of the design is simply to create a game play mechanic that's engaging. Then of course...mileages vary and we are monitoring the feedback.

That's distinctly not the impression I got from CCP SoniClover's statements...

"Verily, I have often laughed at the weaklings who thought themselves good because they had no claws."

"Create gameplay that's engaging".

The end of botting cometh. And all those who have ever ganked, stole, lied, and whatever else and said to someone who complained "Hey, this is an MMO, not solo play. Form up with people, make friends or GTFO" will have to put their money where their keyboards are.

Interesting times coming.

I still think the ESS has issues though - c'mon make it a hacking target and make all containers and POSes hackable and we'll be seeing interaction and a lot of "hey, nobody is stopping you from recruiting across multiple time zones" posts in these very forums.

And once again you devolve into "Prophet Mode".

Even for these forums, you're pretty crazy.
