Rules Of Eve

Some time ago the topic of Eve Rules was being discussed and after a while came up with these 10 Rules of Eve.

1st Rule Of Eve = Never trust anyone.

2nd Rule Of Eve = It's always a trap.

3rd Rule Of Eve = If it sounds too good to be true, refer to Rule 1 and 2.

4th Rule Of Eve = Don't fly what you can't replace.

5th Rule Of Eve = The only safe place is in station.

6th Rule Of Eve = Undock from station can incite PvP aggression.

7th Rule Of Eve = When in doubt, refer to Rule 4, 5 and 6.

8th Rule Of Eve = There is no right way to play.

9th Rule Of Eve = Conversation gains Information.

10th Rule Of Eve = To play Eve, refer to Rule 8 and 9.


Just wondering if everyone was pretty much in agreement with those. I'm sure there's a few more Cardinal Rules that can be added to the list. At least enough to make it The 13 Rules of Eve. Of course more would be better.

Food for thought. As you can plainly see, after a couple of rules are stated there's another rule which refers back to the previous rules. That should be included with any new rule group.

For example :

11th Rule Of Eve = The Forums are Eve too.
12th Rule Of Eve = Only alt characters post in the forums.
13th Rule Of Eve = To win Eve, refer to Rule 11 and 12.

Anyway, just post some more basic rules to this thread and if everyone likes them, they can be added to the existing list.

i cant tell you the rest of the rules as im bound by the first two rules not to talk about it

Well, that was just an example. Also it doesn't have to be super serious either. Just more or less be generally accepted.

Rule 5 and 6 are actually wrong. You can still lose your stuff while being docked.

- someone can destroy your POS
- you can be tricked into a scam
- a corp member can steal your/corp assets from hangars

So rule 5 doesn't actually exist and rule 6 should be changed to "when you decide to start playing EVE you consent to PVP".

In correct form: Dont undock anything you're not willing to lose.
Also, thats not 4th, its the 1st and the only rule.

btw, the part about only alts posting, not true, totaly not.

This isn't true at all!

This one time, I met a cute Caldari guy at Jita 4-4 when I was buying a new Microwarpdrive for my Polaris frigate, and let me tell ya, station services get really buttmad when they have to clean peanut butter and whipped cream from the walls of your captain's quarters!
