Stealth Bombers and Solo PVP

If you're looking for solo 1x1 PvP opportunities, I'd recommend you train your scanning and go hunt explorers and mission runners. Those are typical solo PvE activities so you're likely to have a surprise factor on them.

And they are also likely to complain after you shoot them, so if you like tears like it seems I think you'll like that.

Cloaky t3s and recons. I had a friend who did some nasty things by himself in a pilgrim and another who could destroy in a Cloaky proteus. A torp stealth bomber is pretty effective against very specific targets as well. You will definitely need to learn a lot about picking your targets however.

Unfortunately anything that can fit a cloak is mostly gimped in offensive prowness compared to it's non-cloaky counterparts. If you want to go T2 frigates I would suggest interceptors or assault frigates for solo work

Maybe you can explore these options down the road but they are far too expensive and far too skill-intensive (both character skill and pilot skill) for a newbie to use effectively

My advice on using a bomber when running solo? Don't. You won't have much fun, and it's extremely inefficient. You'd be better off using a Wolf or something similar if you're looking at a cheap frigate fit that won't hurt your wallet much if you lose it. Which you will.

Stealth in this game is much better for scouting or recon, and in terms of ambushing or combat, they work infinitely better in a fleet. Granted, the same could be said for just about any ship, but in terms of skirmishing, you can do much better than a bomber and have more fun doing it.

Assuming you are talking about bombing then forget solo work. A single bomb is unlikely to kill anything*.

Assuming you mean torps then solo work is viable but the main targets are likely to be ratters which is boring as **** given most of them safe-up soon as you come into local.

You have seriously nerfed your soloing options if your skills are solely focused on bombers......

*yeah yeah you can pop some ships with a single bomb IF they have mwd on and the occasional untanked indy but that's about it.

I'm not talking about using bombs in particular but PVPing alone with that class of ship in particular.
I'm not really sure what skills I want to train other than the ones the Nemesis requires.

I'm one of the leaders of one of goonswarms cloaked warfare style gangs, and I can tell you right now you are training real hard towards the wrong tool. Don't get me wrong bombers are amazing... in groups. But solo you are pretty much looking for the occasional battleship sized ratter. A tengu (The premier eve PVE boat) will rip you up. The ishtar will rip you up. Any ship with drones will rip you up.

What you really want is a Recon or a T3, which can engage a larger range of ratters while shooting for their resists... or you can just ignore the "Warped cloaked" thing and slap a cloak on another ship that will do the job. Pretty much you want something with a utility high, I like Cynabals myself.

Fly what you want to fly.

If you want to fly the Nemesis because it looks really cool (and it *does* look really cool) and you like the idea of stealth bombing, then do it. You want to be doing and flying things that are interesting to you. If you make mistakes or are flying something that is inefficient, so what? You may indeed find out that the Nemesis is not right for the kind of flying you really want to do (as others in the thread have noted) but the good news is that once you've trained into the Nemesis, you're not too far off from the Gallente Interceptors and Assault frigates.

Then again, you may discover that flying around stealthy and dropping torpedoes on AFK miners or ratters is just the thing for you.

Banish plump Jack, and banish all the world.

Typically when people talk about PVP they refer to engaging other combat-fit ships. The guy you linked kills industrials, mining ships, and occasionally a really, really shitfit cruiser.

Which is not to say it isn't legitimate, but it is a very specific form of PVP.

To the OP:

- don't be blinded by what you hope a "cloaking war ship" is and what it actually is in EVE
- most people who brag about solo kills aren't solo at all (gang links, falcon, RR etc)
- a Bomber used solo is a VERY limited, VERY niche and VERY patient affair
- even if you spot a single target there's a VERY good chance you'll have to let him go because he doesn't fall into the "can be killed by a solo bomber" category. I'd say you'll have to let go 90% of the random targets
- don't believe people's hype and "I got this amazing kill once so yes bombers are amazing" bullshit stories, they tell you that story (quite possibly amped up a few times) because it happened ONCE

What a bomber is good at;

- flying in a well orchestrated Bomber gang
- ratting in 0.0
- fitting light missiles and killing data/relic explorers
- killing idiots
