Risk/reward want to decrease mission/loot time? Risk loss of structure or drones to NPC.

You can rep them (assume you can rep new structures) or prioritise killing the units aggresing them.

Also from what I see most rooms in level 4s I run have targets at ~50-80km at warp in. If they are greater get in your noctis or fit a marauder.

I admit speed should increase, with perhaps a new tractor skill which could also help out tractors on other fits as well should not go above 2km/s IMO though.

Just a quick necro, I agree with the OP. Salvage drones are there more as a convenience in the first place and pose no real threat against an NPC, and makes no sense for them to attack the drones (unless they are trolling, lol)

I would recommend using drone upgrades. To save most of your slots you can use ship modifications. This will increase their speeds and damage they can take.

Another thing you can do, keep the drone window open. When you see your drones being attacked, go after the ship attacking the drone.

As for the Guristas attacking the drones. They are kind of like cops. They don't care it is a toy gun or a real gun. They see a gun they are going to react
