You need to get probes to load it, you should have been given these...

Yep I have I have used them and on going to the second probe / scanning mission I tried to launch the probes but the launcher is saying out of charge. I did retrieve the scanners after the data mission but for some reason I cant load them into the launcher.

I usually open my cargo and drag them onto my fitting window. I have auto-load off, but I think that when you recover them it doesn't auto-reload at that point so you need to do it yourself.

Have a guess where they were when I docked my ship instead of the scanners being in the launcher they went into the hanger is that normal?

I am finding this game addictive but annoying at times.

Generally it's best to have at least one extra flight of probes (8) in your cargo, that way when you launch it gets automatically reloaded right away.

No I don't know why they would do that, maybe you lost them and the agent replaced them.
Finish all the career agents?

Google, "eve online exploration guide". This will give you a lot of starting information. Explorers make money off of the hacking games. You will need scanning skills first, then some basic hacking skills. High Sec signatures are very easy to hack but not a lot of payout. Once you do that for a while you can look for the guides on exploring low-sec and null.

You need to remember to recall your probes when you've finished your scanning in a particular system - otherwise they get left behind. (Unless that changed in the recent updates.)

Probes now get pulled in when you jump, because CCP thinks we're all non-effort morons who need hand held game play.
