Viability of Rokh as mission (non faction) ship with hybrid changes.

Granted faction ships would still be better or t2 BS's, but as a plain old regular BS do you think it will be more viable? True it has no damage bonus, but blaster already do a significant amount of damage. I'm hoping with less fitting issues one can then fit prop mods or a web if needed.

I assume the problem wont be tank but rather getting into range. Also wonder about tracking the the small tougher cruisers in some missions that scout or medium drones have difficulty with. Or perhaps rails are the way to go and just use all the short range ammo.

Once again not about if it's the best... I know there's better rather if it can be a legitimate regular BS mission ship.

On sisi I;m seeing just under 800 DPS with my skills on a t2 fit rokh with 425s. It's not bad. The range bonus means you can use javelin ammo, which helps somewhat. Ideal? No. But it is usable.

Over expensive yes but I think it could work. Has 22-26Km Range with null and the cut down ammo time means a quick switch to AM. Not sure on the Rigs though. She is well off for cap, will eat Cruisers between the tracking and the 14km Web and the Hammers will pop Frigs pretty quick once they are snagged. Max Speed 783km/s.

well, you have 2 options for a rohk - rail, and blaster. Here are some examples of what you could do either way:

[Rokh, Rohk Blaster Love]
Federation Navy Magnetic Field Stabilizer
Federation Navy Magnetic Field Stabilizer
Federation Navy Magnetic Field Stabilizer
Tracking Enhancer II
Tracking Enhancer II

100MN Afterburner II
Pith C-Type Large Shield Booster
Ballistic Deflection Field II
Heat Dissipation Field II
Heavy Capacitor Booster II, Cap Booster 800
Shield Boost Amplifier II (optional, swap for web)

Neutron Blaster Cannon II, Void L
Neutron Blaster Cannon II, Void L

Neutron Blaster Cannon II, Void L
Neutron Blaster Cannon II, Void L
Neutron Blaster Cannon II, Void L
Neutron Blaster Cannon II, Void L
Neutron Blaster Cannon II, Void L

Large Hybrid Locus Coordinator II
Large Hybrid Locus Coordinator II
Large Ancillary Current Router I

Hammerhead II x5

with drones and void, you have 1167dps before implants. With the range bonus and the locus coordinator 2's, you have a range of 11+20 with antimatter, 16+10 with void, 27+26 with null, and 34+20 with iron. Speed is 293m/s with a t2 afterburner (more obviously if you dump faction in), though it still aligns like a tub. Conclusion - viable for some missions (like damsel), but not for most.

Large Hybrid Burst Aerator II

Hammerhead II x5

This fit gets 867dps with javelin and hammerheads (not spectacular... but okish). Range is 35+49km with javelin, 70+49 with antimatter. Range is great... dps is better than it used to be, but that isn't really saying much. Hey, it might finally be better for serpentis than the raven though...

You seem to have confused the ability to hit with the ability to do damage. Claiming that you have 4km less range than an Abaddon is ... misleading. At Optimal + Falloff you'll do ~40% of your maximum EFT DPS while the Abaddon will still be doing 100% of his.

I think if you can get 1000 DPS at 40km you might be in business though.

Consider using specific hardeners, they will do wonderfull things for your mission tank. Also play with ur cap boosters, I have found that 400s will get the job done with less space and fewer reloads.

Fitting the slowest BS in whole Eve with Blasters for PvE is fail by default.

Also, rails all the way. It's speed means that anything you gain in Dps will vanish in time spent chasing ships down.

I was doing Angel's Extravaganza last night in T2 Blaster fit Rokh. Works wonders on missions where the BS's like to orbit really close. I think the Rokh is underestimated simply because few people use them due to Hybrids having a bad reputation.

What do you do in Worlds Collide initial stage where NPCs are 120km away? Or any other mission where distance to NPC is >60km?
If your answer is "wait until they come in range", then i can tell you most guys finish half of that mission faster than you get your target even in falloff.

Ok, if i'd only have access to T1 BS, i'd consider a blaster rokh to be suitable for close range missions like damsel, Vengeance or sth. like that. Not the worst option at all.

But 300 dps at 40-45km is pathetic. And there is no option for killing NPCs at 60km+ except the use MWD at 20s allign (aka 2 full cycles for 0 -> 600) and <800m/s top speed.

Plus Null Ammo is freakin expensive. 8 barrels with T2 Ammo fighting in high fall-off most of the time (Null L)...man, you know how much ammo costs you have to expect?

But switching from Rails to Blasters or from Raven to Rokh, depending on what mission you get....why not?

I'm using Rokh for lvl 4's and its main problem is huge capacitor demand which makes you run out of cap after several minutes of shooting. I somewhat reduced that problem by fitting a Discharge rig, putting a Cap power relay and making it passive tanked, so my mission setup (with mission-specific hardeners) looks like this:

[Rokh, Mission]
Tracking Enhancer II
Tracking Enhancer II
Magnetic Field Stabilizer II
Magnetic Field Stabilizer II
Mark I Generator Refitting: Capacitor Power Relay

100MN Afterburner II
Ballistic Deflection Field I
Heat Dissipation Field I
Heat Dissipation Amplifier II
Kinetic Deflection Amplifier II
Large Shield Extender II

350mm Compressed Coil Gun I, Antimatter Charge L
350mm Compressed Coil Gun I, Antimatter Charge L
350mm Compressed Coil Gun I, Antimatter Charge L
350mm Compressed Coil Gun I, Antimatter Charge L
350mm Compressed Coil Gun I, Antimatter Charge L
350mm Compressed Coil Gun I, Antimatter Charge L
350mm Compressed Coil Gun I, Antimatter Charge L
350mm Compressed Coil Gun I, Antimatter Charge L

Large Hybrid Burst Aerator I
Large Hybrid Metastasis Adjuster I
Large Hybrid Discharge Elutriation I

Hammerhead II x5

But for hybrids specialists, Navy Mega is probably much better mission boat. And while a properly fitted blaster-fitted Rokh should outdamage any other T1, non-faction BS in gatecamps, it is utterly useless in most missions.

Workarounds are not bugfixes.

Right but with the changes and possible MWD fit to burn into range better? or rails still the way to go just to avoid range issues. I use a mael with t2 ammo granted it gives a huge falloff bonus so only stuff past 60km+ you need to position for, but I dislike the tank/cap issues it has on harder missions. That or on missions requiring range the god awful wait of arty cycle times.
