[19:52:15] A Humble Trader > oh i see - yeah that happens - who passed my name on to you?
[19:52:34] Unlucky Victim > my CEO
[19:53:00] A Humble Trader > well you can tell your ceo he cost u around 2 billion in losses
[19:53:24] A Humble Trader > did he buy a ship from me?
[19:53:37] Unlucky Victim > he said you were a buddy of his
[19:54:04] A Humble Trader > ?
[19:54:10] A Humble Trader > is he online?
[19:54:15] Unlucky Victim > yes
[19:54:32] A Humble Trader > so how does he know me?
[19:54:57] Unlucky Victim > i will pull him into this convo if you would like
[19:55:17] A Humble Trader > if u want?
[19:55:49] A Humble Trader > feel free
[19:55:56] A Humble Trader > to invite him

[19:59:41] Unlucky Victim > yeah we are attempting to track him down, he is afk it seems atm
[20:00:00] A Humble Trader > so how does he know me?
[20:00:23] A Humble Trader > have you checked your other ships?
[20:00:28] Unlucky Victim > he has not messaged me back yet.
[20:01:29] Unlucky Victim > are they not what they seem either?
[20:01:48] A Humble Trader > i'm afraid not
[20:02:12] A Humble Trader > and as far as I'm aware I've never had any dealings with your CEO
[20:02:23] Unlucky Victim > he has a few characters
[20:02:30] A Humble Trader > so why he passed you onto me is anybody's guess
[20:04:11] A Humble Trader > but I'm sure he'll be able to explain
[20:07:05] Unlucky Victim > So i dont suppose you will be wiling to take back these ships and give me my ISK? I guess that would be a stretch?
[20:07:35] A Humble Trader > just a little - unless I do really know your CEO then i might
[20:15:02] Unlucky Victim > xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx and xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx are his other handles
[20:19:23] A Humble Trader > nope don't know any of them
[20:27:30] A Humble Trader > i'm going to be logging off soon so any sign of him?
[20:28:22] Unlucky Victim > nope, i suppose thanks for the expensive lesson.
[20:29:17] A Humble Trader > i'd ask your ceo for compensation to be honest
[20:29:33] A Humble Trader > passing u on to somebody he doesn't really know
[20:30:01] A Humble Trader > is poor form in my book
[20:30:11] Unlucky Victim > lol, dont suppose i will play this game much more anyway
[20:30:23] A Humble Trader > why's that?
[20:31:03] A Humble Trader > don't let one set back put you off
[20:31:10] Unlucky Victim > thats a $45 IRL loss and i do not see the fun nor honor in that
[20:32:16] Unlucky Victim > but buyer beware, i should have checked the tab not the file name... lesson learned
[20:32:25] A Humble Trader > well a good ceo will reimburse you after all it's his fault you crossed my path
[20:32:58] A Humble Trader > i didn't even mailshot you
[20:33:39] Unlucky Victim > thats what really sux about this. I would never have fallen for this from a "cold" call or mail...
[20:34:21] A Humble Trader > all i can assume is he passed through amarr and got my mail which I throw out randomly and decided to pretend I was his buddy and passed it on to you
[20:34:39] Unlucky Victim > most likely it would seem
[20:34:42] A Humble Trader > but why he did that you'll have to ask him
[20:34:56] A Humble Trader > cos i don't know him at al
[20:35:39] A Humble Trader > i wish he would join our convo and explain himself
[20:35:54] Unlucky Victim > he is in the bath

Nice scam. A bit pedestrian, but these quotidian scams are the meat and bread of EVE.
Carry on!

If ransoming for songs were more common, I'd fly back and forth through the Rancer pipe in battleships all day.

I wish my line of work - primarily highsec miner suppression - allowed more opportunities for ransom negotiations.

Nice story. Would read again. Should go on top of the pile of anecdotal evidence that not everyone who trains the corp management skill should be a CEO.

I so need to spin a songs for isk scam now. That would have been brilliant if he had sung a nice sound cloud about being scammed.
