How much do freighter pilots make?

Assuming you get OK contracts (from hauler corps etc). I imagine you do multiple contracts at once if possible, but how much can you make per day or week at varying levels of activity?

I don't do courier contracts, but I do buy-low / haul / sell higher.

On my past 3 buy orders, I made roughly 250m profit per order, at 2.5b per order, so 10%.

You really can't make a living just hauling. You need to have a purpose, as the above poster said, Hauling to market.

Unless you join up with a corp like Red Frog, but the waiting list is pretty long

As far as I know, Push Industries don't charge any per-Contract fee from their member pilots, so the pilots get the full 500k ISK per Contract plus 500k ISK per jump. So how many jumps can you make per day or per week? I tend to imagine that most such Freighter pilots do something else while hauling, like watching Netflix or studying, because Freighters are very, very slow.

I've never done it because I have things that are far more interesting to fill my time with (though still very boring to most) and I can't deal with auto piloting ships. But I did have a corp mate who had a few alts in red frog who basically said the isk is good if you're not planning on doing anything (AFK) and awful if you're sitting their piloting freighters around handling moving contracts around.

They didn't give me a number but if you assume a 10 jump from tash-murkon to jita costs 6M isk. If we assume the freighter pilot gets 75% of the payout and 2 minutes per jump (20 minutes total) and say an average 10 minutes travel time to the next contract you're looking at about 9M isk per hour for very AFK work. So it's better then nothing if you're juat doing auto-piloting, but if you're manually flying there are much better things to do.

contracts are imho quiet cheap. Red frog hauls for 0.5M per jump full freighter load (1B isk cargo max of course).

Then you haven't discovered the haulers channel and the public courier contracts mailing list.
they are usually faster than red frog and accept a wider range of payments /cargo. the pilots using it will prioritise higher reward contracts so you can get stuff done fast if you pay for it.
i bought my owner freighter in the end though as i am too disorganised to use spreadsheets or planning for my manufacturing alt and so i need stuff moved asap to avoid having empty factory lines.

its not about how mutch they make its more like

dedication->patience->proffit

ive flow with red frog for 6-7 months

and u need to put efford in it to make isk
also having an decent isk wallet to pay the collatherals is a + to have
multiple accounts with freighter skills increase ur proffit aswell
having dual webbing alts

the real isk is black frog
lowsec/nullsec(npc space) where the isk starts flowing
very little risk if done well and good payout.

as for tradehubs making insta undocks (jita,amarr,rens,hek,dodixie) are good to have
overall its good isk gaining with alts while ur main does other things aswell
manufacturing,incursions,etc

the que is long to join red frog but its well worth it always tons of contracts a good system to accept them and also SRP
but u need 2 accounts as a contracter toon and the pilot itself

AFK Charon, with all relevant skillz maxed, does 25 jumps in 120 minutes (Jita to... Rens I think), so the correct figure is closer to 5 minutes per jump than to 2 minutes.

Don't AFK with cargo. That's just suicide. However, AFK while empty isn't a problem.

I do find that the more you AFK, the more likely a wardec is. I've been wardec-ed every single time after a period of atypically heavy AFK hauling activity.

Use the freighter for yourself and your corp to move items. Find a better way to make isk. Hunting freighters might be a good option. Lol

i often use public contracts to get my hauling done

a there and back again haul with manufacturing in the middle often gives me 100m+ profit. the freighter pilot makes 6 million on the roundtrip.

tl,dr: the isk is **** and it's not worth the risk. don't do it.

with collateral between 6 and 10bil, i used to make 500/800mil every couple days that was with haulers channel and Frog frieght and a little public contracts aswell.
