If it was working as intended, he wouldn't have been reimbursed.

How do dreads/carriers in siege/triage handle ewarp? Bastion should be the same.

Bastion mod just started it's cycle but I'll be dead before it disengages so I'll just yoink out this Cat6 so the system warps my fiery mess away?

this... same goes for triage carriers and sieged dreads so it works as intended. in this particulair case a reimbursement was in place and you got that.

try it with a loss when a player tackles you, you wont get reimbursed because the "DC" refused to warp you out

So to prevent people from ripping out the cat 6 cable, you tackle them and it will prevent the e-warp? It's that simple and people just overlook it?

In the original narrative he was fighting NPC rats. Server exploded and disconnected him. Exit game queued the "warp to random" scripting but the ship never moved because the bastion mod was still active.

They should all attempt ewarp once the module cycles, if the player disconnects.

Makes no sense to me. I paid to play a game, the game crashed due to the game company's server (not the user's fault), the user ended up losing a game asset (worth approximately $40-$50 if converting USD to PLEX) as a result of the server crash (not to any poor game play decision). If the ship wasn't reimbursed I would have discontinued my subscription. I was simply posting this feedback to prevent the issue from re-occuring (which prevents the user from having to wait for a petition to be answered and CCP doesn't have to spin their wheels answering the petition).

I honestly didn't think this would cause so much rage from people, but since I'm home from work today for being sick it's providing some entertainment for me.

I support and understand your argument, but I'm not understanding this first sentence. Customer Service forwards Petitions to devs ALL THE TIME.

Providing entertainment is what GD is for. It's what I do at work when I am not working (which is all the time).

I'm glad you got your ship reimbursed, that you didn't quit in an awful fit of **** and sick, and that you have lived to mini-dread another day!

I dont really think this qualifies as rage

You didnt lose anything, and it wasnt CCP who made it happen, so its a nil-all-draw

Maybe you can sue DerpTrolling for your pixels or something I dunno

Also; not peas

No need to sue anybody. Just need to modify the coding a little bit to prevent it from happening in the future. It won't make anyone's gameplay less fun (even hardcore elite PVPers who would like to tackle my Marauder so I can't run away). It will also save time on CCP's end by reducing the number of petitions they need to handle.

Also, regarding your reference to "pixels", I've thought about this considerably (in regards to the importance of in-game items, out of game items, or really anything that we interact with in some way or another). All in all, from an existential perspective nothing has any inherent meaning or significance. Rather, meaning/significance is created inside of someone's mind and attached to something.

In this case, that Marauder represented both time and effort to earn, and thus had some level of meaning to me. So the fact that it is constructed entirely from pixels is immaterial. Much the same way as if I had assembled a cheap puzzle from paper. I would still be upset if someone came along and destroyed it through no fault of my own.

I guess you had your ability to both see the funny side of anything and not take things literally removed at birth

But yeah I can see how you know how to run CCPs petition system better than they can

They must be wrong to ask you to petition it (even though they didnt have to replace it under the EULA)

And Im sure they arent going to do anything about it

They probably really like having to answer all those petitions

Don't stop, and don't apologise. The non-content is of better quality than the content most of the time.

ps. OP please don't ask for game changes which will be widely abused. You lost a ship due to a server based shutdown, which is relatively rare. Either the GM was a rookie and unaware of the HTFU policy, or the logs showed stuff. Either way, take your reimbursement and run, you just won Eve.

Tbf, when anyone starts a phrase with "from an existential perspective" the correct response is "shurrup you tit"

But anyway... continue
