I've run 3, 2 has implant BPCs, 1 had junk. The implants don't seem to pay out as much considering how rarely the site spawns, if they are going to be used for something to do with new stargates it might be worth hoarding them.

I have found 6 of these sites. In every one, the rats did not show up on overview. Not sure how that made it past QA.

It doesn't matter since they aren't meant to be killed, and don't drop anything.

I've done about 20 of these so far in Null and Wormholes. They are highly underwhelming. They take all of 2 minutes to run, and they drop extremely limited things. I was expecting some kind of depth to them, but no. They drop sell loot, bpcs and some components to build the bpcs. Implants that no one uses and the Mobile depot.

Yawn.

Yes ghost sites exist. Yes their stuff is making its way into the market place. What is the question exactly?

New stuff tends to never show up on the overview by default. Ghost site NPCs not appearing there is not an anomaly compared to previous expansions that included new stuff.

The Wetu BPCs are pretty low value as the the depot itself for them is inferior (easily scannable still, but 100m3 for some reason). The alpha ascendancy BPC is pretty worthless because they show up in low and null and are the most likely drop. Determining the BPC value is difficult as there are significant material costs to producing one, and furthermore demand is low, meaning the 0.01 isk game is necessary to get them to sell. The high grade, implants other than alpha/beta are pretty valuable. The low-grade omegas bpcs are pretty low-value. I've run a few dozen of these in nullsec and I've never seen a yurt bpc drop. It is possible to fit a dedicated t3 for them, and you can get a ghost site or two per hour this way, but in doing so you're skipping any other exploration content. Its just a gate-to-gate race across empty nullsec. They are a nice bonus if you're hacking in a t3 however, as they're very quick to run and will pay a guaranteed 15mil from a single can, but unless you're unlucky you should get at least 30m from Covert Research Tools.

Nullsec ghost sites are farmable, W-space ones are much harder to find, as you can't really visit 300 W-space systems in only a few hours.

You know, I came across around seven in Gallente and Amarr space over the course of the first 2-3 days after their introduction... haven't seen a single one since. Worth it? Dunno, depends on whether you're actively hunting them down to do them or if you happen to see one. If it's a chance thing while running anoms, sure, why not. Just make sure the ship you're using can take the damage. If you're actively hunting them, not worth the time at all. Best I've gotten from the ones I've done are a couple Villard Wheels (??) and a couple implant blueprints. Other than that I'll stick to commander wrecks in combat anoms.

Seen two or three, didn't bother trying to run them.

Edit: My impression is that these sites are too rare and specialized for casual runners to keep specialized ships on hand to run them, but not profitable or common enough for interested people to make a career out of them.

Found quite a few in null, ran most of them and lost a stratios and anathema so far.

Jumping around in a ship specifically looking for them I think is barely worth it, even with the warp speed of an anathema, since they're so damn rare.

Doing them in a ship that can tank them alongside looking for relic sites they are definitely nice.

I've seen a Yurt bpc in the one that blew up my anathema.

When you consider at entire expansion is build around ghost sites, i could say they are awful.

It was worth it to actively search for them the first week, when the items was actually worth something. I used a route that would take me through around 50 system, which was close to half the region where is was searching for ghost sites. It took me around 1 hour, using a travel fit covert/nullified T3, and i would maybe find a site half the runs i did.

On average it took me 2 hours to find a site, where you need to be lucky to get more then 100M now, and the sites take a couple of minutes to clear.

2 hours work, 2 minutes fun, less then 100M reward... just not worth it!... the site might be great for new players who just got into a cruiser and 100M is more then they got in their wallet, but it's a waste of time for older player who already have a steady income.

I would agree, except that the expansion wasn't built around ghost sites at all.

Er... wut?

If it's an object in space, it should be possible to have it on the overview.

If it's an object in space that tries to kill you, it should MOST DEFINITELY be possible to have it on the overview. Period.

To be honest i really can't remember if it was fixed, or i just got use to them not showing in overview, but i think it was fixed shortly after the release. They spawn, warp scram you, the containers explode and they warp off, it's all takes 10-15 sec, so it's not a huge problem not seeing them in overview.

They are not standard pirate rats, if they don't show up in overview it could be because of the filter settings.

Well the trailer for the expansion featured ghost sites, and it's ghost sites that they are advertising currently on youtube for Eve so it seems like CCP advertising thinks that it was the cornerstone of the expansion at least.

The second time I got blasted by the rats that spawn in-site, because they used the dubious tactic of NOT SHOWING UP ON THE OVERVIEW.

I checked my overview settings, everything relevant was ticked. They should have appeared. Unless they're rogue Concord Billboards or spiteful asteroids looking for payback.

If you think the rats not showing up on the overview is not a problem, keep in mind that the hacking window is this large, bloated window that takes up way too much screen space.

I also got popped by the rats that didn't show up on the overview. The next site I cloaked and motored off into the distance until the rats spawned and I right clicked on one and added it to the overview. However the overview does not actually contain a setting for this rat so I can't tell you what it was.

I've spent the last few minutes hunting around for ways to access this information from the data files that CCP saves but they seem to have gone to considerable trouble to make it hard to do. Exporting the overview settings doesn't work. Honestly kind of annoyed at CCP right now. It really should not be this difficult to document such a poorly implemented feature.

If someone cares to tell me how to extract this information from CCP's named files then I'll tell you what the overview code of the rat that I toggled is.

The question is who wants ascendancy implants? i just don't see the market (compared to, lets say, slaves or crystals).
Depots is kinda the same. Wetu specs are so it's not spectacular, Yurt might be a bit better - but still, it is a very niche market.

Only thing is that the 'materials' prices are held up by NPC buy orders atm (i think i remember reading something to that effect).

I'm just back to the game from a longish break, and the loot-spew thing caused my jaw to fall open. It's exactly what I would choose to do to make something pointlessly difficult. Add to that the pointless circuit board interface where no interface existed before, and you have a double load of crap. CCP have converted a simple process into a time consuming and seemingly pointless activity.

I'm yet to find a ghost site, but my enthusiasm for exploration has waned considerably following these changes.

loot-spew? wtf were they thinking...?

Haven't seen one since they were released.

I feel like a lot of people would buy ascendancies if they didn't require hundreds of millions in PI materials to build. Their base cost is just above what people are willing to pay in decent numbers. This in turn devalues the blueprints and ghost sites as a whole.

As for the mobile depots, wetu is useless by design. They would justify their existence better if higher meta levels meant smaller volume when packaged in your cargo. That is actually something people would pay for.

I was in a ghost site once...then some damned meddling kids and a dog showed up and ripped my face off after I chased the dog and one stoned ugly kid around for a bit.
