By that logic, nothing in the game is an exploit.

Remove CONCORD protection. Problem solved.

I don't buy this as being classified as a mere bug fix. This was a feature of the Orca which has existed since the ship, or ships with SMAs in general, have existed. Considering between then and now is a non-trivial amount of time, and given the recent results of the CSM Crowd Sourcing project, you must be daft to think that anyone will buy the "bug fix" line.

GM Haggis, is CCP now trying to enforce or confine ships to intended roles? Does this mean we can also expect to see Rorquals or Hulks being disallowed to mount neuts, points or any such other offensive modules? How about removing turret slots from Industrials?

And since you seem to be on a bug fixing bent here, lets hear about the progress on fixing the bugs which affect everyone's game play, such as windows sticking to mouse pointers, the random offline module lottery, and other such glaring examples of non-existent pre-release QA testing?

Welcome to the (ever shrinking) concept of a sanbox game. You win the prize.

So what, we should never fix bugs? Yeah, I'm sure that'll make for a great game...

Edit: Though I could see abuse of the docking timer becoming an issue. My suggestion is to flag the orca or carrier that scoops an aggressed ship with an aggression timer..

Hmm. Get /Retreiver/Covetor/Hulk alt aggressed to your main, fly it next to unsuspecting orca, eject, fly the alt's pod out of system and wait for the orca pilot to say "OH free ship!" and scoop it.

Lovely idea.

This exemplifies the real problem - the vast majority of people in EVE never take the time to understand aggression mechanics, even on a basic level. When they eventually get their ship whacked as a result of being ignorant of How Aggro Works, they, well, blame it on things like the Orca.

If a mission runner gets flipped, that flipper is aggressable by the mission runner's entire corp. He can quite easily batphone in his corpmates for help, even if the flipper escalates using an Orca. That's one of the reasons corps exist in eve, right? It has always been this way. If the mission runner himself or his corp is unprepared in this regard, that's the risk he assumes by shooting at the flipper.

So what if the mission runner is in a NPC corp? Well, so what. He has chosen to trade corpmates who could come help him for not being war dec'able.

*shrugs* So like any other circumstance, give a popup warning telling you that you're about to receive aggression. Ignore it at your own peril.

Not really any different than stealing from someone's jetcan, really.

Man up. It was fun while it lasted but now its time to man up and find a new tactic. You have to admit it took the **** a little.

As a sidenote, if you have a now "useless" Orca here is a list of things you can do with it in high sec.

  1. Haul Stuff
  2. Miner Support
  3. Sneaking banned stuff around Empire

Hope the training time was worth it ;D

Screw you ccp. cant you announce future changes/nerfs that require long skilling for alts with ships and mechanics not long enough in advance. the second time you hit me with skilling for special things in eve and once i have skilled it is worthless. nice way you treat your paying customers.

The role of the Orca as a mining support vessel has not been changed in any and as that was it's designed purpose we would not consider this change anything other than a bug fix.

Why is this a bug?
Why can you do it in null or low sec to avoid dying by switching to a stronger ship, but not in high sec when being war-dec or just being ganked?

its not like GCC disappears or you can't be attacked after you switch ships.

It is a bit silly to "fix" it just for high-sec.

I support the "Give agro to Orca' post. Imagine if it was a real life. Nothing can stop you from getting into a car after the bank robbery. But that makes the car driver who waited for you while you robbed the bank The accomplice.

What about avoiding combat by dropping corp under wardecs? What a warm and soft universe this is turning into.

Carrier games are just like this in low sec at stations.

The ability to just dock your ship in your alt/friend's carrier that is sitting on a station and the ship is aggressed, the pop out in another is a clear exploit of game mechanics.

wah wah wah. CCP does nothing Eve related. Why you no fix bugs. Why you no fix this. Why you no fix that

CCP statement: We've fixed a known exploit

wah wah wah. Why no warning you fix this. I not want this fixed. Fix something else

It gives me a warm feeling inside that you pansies have now wasted the training time with this fix. Now you'll have to man up. Can you even do that???

I would get an Orca for other things then this Bullshit aka Swapping ships just to exploit something. I would able to carry the Refined Ore I have in a Station Container to another Station, though that will take awhile. lol

But I am training for something a little bit not wasting my time. lol

nice that ccp looked at it, but the fix is as always "lets do it in 10 minutes or less and get back to coding gay vampires"
you could of added agression transfers , new popup warnings etc, but you chose to just disable one thing ( i bes someone can still eject, wair for orca to eject new ship, scoop the old one, board the new one)
