Can't open new launcher (Rubicon)

Is there currently a work around for the launcher not updating successfully. I must have at least 6 copies of the client between my laptop and pc, all of which are now broken as the launcher gets stuck at 100% when applying the patch. When I close the launcher and reopen it tries to re update but it stops promptly saying the update fails. I have run the repair tool and this also gets to the end of the repair process and announces that it has failed.

It also complains very heavily about the lack of .dll files. From the traceback.

Frame getsize in genericpath.pyo at line 49:
filename = u'C:\\Program Files (x86)\\CCP\\EVE\\bin\\blue.dll'

Ive have also just tried copying and pasting the EVE folder and it performs this successfully bar all .dll files i.e. blue.dll, twitch.dll etc.

If you go to your Program Files x86, CCP, Eve, then the bin file there is an evefile.exe file that will allow you to launch the game going entirely around the launcher.

( \CCP\EVE\bin\exefile.exe)

Just run repair to have the latest patch, then launch the game as above to get around the launcher issues.

Nope I already tried that and that doesn't work either, the file just sits there and looks at me blankly.

Wow...yet another update that tries to update the launcher and FAILS!

Tried 3 times to get to take this time before I ran the repair tool....

Repair tool took 5 minutes to fix it to where it could d/l the new update.... hope the new update works....

ok...now lets be honest here...this issue was reported on NOVEMBER 23, 2013. That is over 2 months and this log in issue still is happening?

those issues were reported from day one of the launcher existing, the launcher IS the issue, but like anything else, CCP does'tn want tu get rid of their pet project.

there is not a single update not ending with some launcher issues, not even mentioning the issues happening on a regular basis.

tldr, get rid of this launcher crap, EVERY SINGLE TIME it brings issues!

my current issue, it stops downloading at 84%, connection is fully stable, but for some reason http://cdn1.eveonline.com/708191/RepairData_708191.dat cannot be reached.

no specific firewall, no funky network config nor computer name.....

Sigh...it is getting worse now....

After the last two down times that you all have had I have needed to run the repair tool to access the game.

This is going the wrong way.....

Are any Devs still watching/caring about this issue????

If any of you are using the new latest version of avast it might be worth right clicking on its icon and selecting 'Disable until computer is restarted' (either reboot or enable avast after patching process has completed or failed for that matter).

I had some issues getting the launcher to work for me a little while back. I managed to get it working after taking the above step combined with manually deleting the contents of the launchers cache. I did both of these things prior to loading the launcher and attempting to get it to patch/update.

I am not sure if this will be of any help just thought i would mention it in the hope that it might at least help someone.

This might be a bit extreme but I have also managed to fix the launcher not patching correctly for me by actually just renaming the launcher folder to something like launcher-old and then running the repair tool. Doing this forced the repair tool to recreate the launcher folder and download a new fresh copy of the launcher. Again might be worth a try use this method at your own discretion though, as it relies on the repair tool working correctly and as expected.

Well...now I have started to get run time errors from the eve exe files which crashed the game. Thus I got ticked off finally after the 4th time of this and have deleted everything I could located within my computer related to EVE. Will try a new install. I really hope it will work as it is forcing me to think about not playing any more after 6+ years and that I would like to avoid

EDIT - THIS DID NOT WORK. So back to square one....very unhappy I am...very unhappy indeed.

I am also getting this issue, stuck in a loop trying to update a few times, get the same errors others have posted here, on the rare occasion the launcher actually starts I just get a white page in the launcher window.

Hello?????

Anyone out there yet?

Problem getting worse....

Now everyday when I want to log into to play your game I get the prompt that their is an update. Well all that "update" does is continue the same issue.

Sooo......then I have to run the repair tool to log in....

So I will ask again.....Is there anyone out there at CCP even bothering to look into this issue anymore as it seems to be growing......
