You should upgrade your attic PC. An old machine like that cannot keep up with the demands of modern day attic management.

Good point. Eve Online is more of a basement oriented game anyways.

Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings?

You'll have to turn that floppy into a hard drive before you can get any action with it.

I played this for my wife. She instantly knew what it was. Our 12 year old daughter just looked at us with a silly look on her face.

Such memories....

Surrender is still your slightly less painful option.

EVE runs best on an Altair 8800.

+1 for this, the most sensible post in the entire thread.

You know with a thin Linux distro it might even work.

Just saying.

I don't have the exact specs as the OP, but I do have some ancient desktops with approximately the same,

I'll give it a go.

A Linux thin client into a Windows 7 environment will certainly work on a Raspberry Pi, but it has better on-paper stats.

Not really, Shaders and DirectX on Win95 are really behind and Eve Online does no longer have the 'low res' client. check the System requirements for specifics. But like someone said, you might give Linux/Wine a try although i am assuming since the shaders are a hardware limitation those will still prevent you from playing Eve Online on a machine that old.

That reminds me of the old AD&D Character Sheet.

I think you are onto something though. It's possible to play with just the windows - overview, chat, HUD buttong (hot keys) and stats. Wasn't there a movement for an "all text interface" Eve client some years ago?

Most important: does cpu support SSE2 and does the GPU support DX9c?

In OP's case the answer to both questions is: no.
