This is exactly the guide I've been needing to talk me into heading for null. Excellent work Gummy Worm, very in depth.

+1 and gratz on a job well done.

I actually glanced over most parts of this guide but I also seriously read other parts of it. I can say it's impressive, you definitely spent a lot of time and effort into creating this write-up. I know a lot of work goes into creating a guide, especially when you try to include all the info that's related to the topic.

I basically did the same thing when I first posted the original version of the 'Faction Standing Repair Plan' in the old forums, try to include all info pertaining to the topic. I ended up doing a lot of re-writing and editing to condense it as well as make it user friendly. Eventually it turned into the finished product that's now listed in the Evelopedia.

Just something to think about.

Lots of helpful tips in there. I've just started exploring, did a high sec Data site and got a BPC and some sort of encoding tool, rather than the Carbon and Hydrogen batteries I had been getting before!

Definitely a great guide, which helped me a lot to understand the eve's space-exploration.

I would too encourage you to further clean up the article and create a wiki-article for it. There's some specific data to be included, possibly a "recommended" starter/optimal/tech II fits to be thrown into as well.

Nevertheless, great job!

+1 from me too.

Very nice work. Lots of information assembled together from various sources.

I would also be very interested in first-hand reports of ghost sites...

And I was so focused on my skill plan .... oh my this looks fun!

Very impressive guide, I will be back to this time and time again.

p.s. I'd love that scanning video even if it's resolution if rough at this time.

Thanks Gummy.

Some example fits would help a lot. Awesome guide,

Thank you so much, Gummy Worm, for writing an excellent guide to exploration. I consider myself a pretty good explorer and I even learned some things about exploration I never knew. I will definitely add your recommendations and exploration tips to my repertoire.

Myself and other corpmates have been spending a lot of time exploring, hunting explorers and have picked up some more tips. I did complete a video, but YouTube copyright guys snagged it immediately. I just had some background music playing at a real low volume, for me, and it was still enough to get flagged.

I also have fits for T1 ships in the form of EFT images. I'll add those later today.

Thank you for this guide. I just got back into exploration and it's just what I needed (especially which cans to grab during spew).

If the person in Local is a part of the alliance that holds sovereignty space in that region, they could very well be on comms with other people and let them know where you are, where you could be heading, and if you don’t act quickly, you only give those people more time to set up a camp and wait for you.

Remember, these systems are held by alliances and you are essentially stealing from them when you run these sites. Some people do not take kindly to this and they will come after you.

You might want to differentiate between SoV and NPC space in your excellent guide.

Also, maybe discuss some of the Navigation skills that can help maneuver/escape other ships?

Ok, I hate you. U must be quitting the relic/data thing to release such an AWESOME guide!

Seriously man. All my isk comes from relics now and I hate you for adding such well trained pilots to the competition pool.

HOWEVER, idk if you have any experience with wormholes but you did not state how finding a C1-C4 hole is a great way to find a way back for the return trip. Perhaps add a small portion about that. Otherwise, excellent guide. Couldn't have said it better myself.

edit: you did mention wormholes after some1's post, but did not go in depth about statics, jump mechanics of wormholes (and thus the major differences in avoiding camps, although rare), or visually identifying wormholes by color.

Still hate you.

edit: yep, still hate you. (hope this does not count as flaming)

What does "warp on grid" mean?

Also, where do you go? Or maybe I should ask where not to go. I recently learned one scan for one system. So you can burn through many systems in one session, and if these systems have already been worked, what do you do?

Additionally, I see you are advocating explorer hunting. That's cool, and maybe a better option for me if sites are cleared out. Now, how do I fit such a ship in what I understand to be T1 tech? Let's just say I'm newb. Still working on MWD.

I know your gonna say something about patience and blah, but I've scanned quite a bit so far, and when I am successful, the site is empty. Granted I can only use a relic scanner, so my options are smaller, but really?

Otherwise, great write up for the advanced players!
