It would be nice if when you take a booster, a combat log notification pops up saying "Turret Optimal Penalty" or w/e. At the moment, you have to open your character sheet and go to the augmentations tab to see what side effects you got.

Umm, don't take drugs if you don't know what they are or how they will affect you. Lol

Perhaps you do not know how boosters work. Each side effect has a chance of occurring. They do not always occur. After you take a drug, you get between none and all of the side effects, but you dont know which ones you got until you open your character sheet and go to the augmentations tab, which is a process that is often quite delayed due to interface lag.
