You don't seem to understand how the module works. It is only a mask not a cloak.Roll

This structure prevents anything inside its 30km radius from appearing on either DScan or Probe Scans. The Scan Inhibitor structure itself however does show up on both types of scan and is very easy to probe down.

What's the problem?

Go ahead and warp on over there, you'll find out.

I think it's a good thing, it will make for interesting game play, plus the module can be scanned so you'll know that something is there but you'll be unsure as to what is actually there, makes the role of scouts more important.

Dumbing down of Eve Online will result in it's destruction...

I really see no practical use for the scan inhibitor other than traps. If you are hunting and see one, you would know one of two things. Someone has some bling they don't want you to see, or it's a trap. I just don't see much use for it other than for traps. Kind of like lighting the cyno when a frig gang is in system and smartbombing them (if they fall for it and fly into your bubble).

+1, atm there are too many players staying cloaked up for HOURS just to land one measly kill on a PVE'er.

As currently iterated, it will make the role of nullsec scout obsolete, unless your scout happens to be sitting in a nullfied T3.

I can just imagine the tears when this module goes live. I think this will make it bear hunting season and they don't even know it.

the idea of the module is to cloak whats there, not to prevent it from showing. it creates risk for the attackers... they could be landing on a deadspace pocket with a few pve ships and crappy t1 logis, or landing on a grid filled with tons of 720mm at the edge of optimal ready to blap them.

i think its great, and it will be used mainly by people baiting lowsec pvp heroes to their deaths.

eventually some carebears will use them to pretend they aren't flying a drake or some other crap, and lowsec pirates will have to leave them alone or take the gamble.

That's what cloaked scouts are for.

There's a business opportunity in this for an enterprising scout. Combine probe scanning, cloaked warping and Twitch TV and you have a perfect intel gathering setup that your friends/clients can see the results of directly.

Some adaptation will be required for many scenarios with this module, but it has benefits to everyone, carebears, pvpers, large fleets, mercs, salvagers and pirates alike. Adapt or die, over and over and over.

This^

Try to think out of the box and think about how you can use new tools to your advantage instead of thinking of how they put you at a disadvantage and make easy kills harder.

This module will greatly increase subterfuge tactics.

Or perhaps you, less so.

It's a big box. A big OBVOIUS box. There's no telling what's *inside* the box, but the box it self is entirely obvious, and there's NOTHING stopping you from going to take a look and see what's inside the box.

EVE is Dying?[tm] Nope. Don't think so. Just another toy in the ever expanding chest of interesting-but-limited toys CCP is giving us. Should be some serious fun-n-games to come. Twisted
