Hey guys ,

So im running lvl 4 missions and i have moderate skills . I run a Fleet typhoon with t1 meta 4 cruise missles and faction sentries .

I've decided to go for blitzing the lvl 4's for the lp because i found out i can make more isk from selling stuff from the lp store then il ever make from bounies and rewards , therefor im interested to know if

I should stick with the TFI and just skill up to use it more effectively or should i go and buy a vindicator instead ?

Also , is a rail vindi valid ? or are blasters still the go to for missioning .

PS : the raats in the missions are mostly guristas , few mercs and some eom's . So technicaly kinetic / thermal .

Thank you

Just because i am blond does not make me stoopid !

I'm not a Vindi pilot, but from what I know of mission running the selectable damage types of the TFI should make it the winner here.

yeah but because im running againts guristas and mercs the dmg profile is mostly kinetic/thermal . therefor vindi has natural good dps againts them .

Missile boats are generally horribly bad in real applied dps due to volley time, overkill and damage application issues. The saving grace in some circumstances is the pure damage type.

Missile+sentryboats require a crapton of focus not to overkill to split volley timing and to take the best use of both systems.

Turret boats are best of the lot due to instant damage and full control on when to blap what with instant damage. The overkill is drastically less than other systems.

Machariel is better than vindicator due to overall speed and selectable damage type. Vindicator is really good against gurista and serpentis, though, in a rail sentry setup.

Heres a Vindi setup that reaches 1300dps with good tracking to 40-50km optimal and 50km falloff, with 78km base targeting range which allows a SeBo to target past damps.

One of the tracking computers is your utility midslot.

Edit: bling is approx. 800M on 80k EHP; the invul can be swapped to t2 when you are confortable, but CPU is the limit here.

Thank you , but i have no quarrell with serpentis , my bothersome rats are guristas mostly.

Also i cannot use t2 rails nor t2 sentries as mentioned in the op , i think .

So TLDR i would blitz missions faster in the vindi then the TFI right ?

Serpentis and Gurista have the same resist profile and damage profile.

But that Vindi will die to the first wave of jamming HACs as it has nearly no tank.

Armor vindi with 3x magstabs and a B-type repper will have a much stronger tank and only loses a tiny bit of dps. It will also be a lot cheaper without 3bil isk of shield tank on it. B type repper is only a few hundred mil.

Also a web is VERY useful on a vindi for dealing with small stuff that gets close to you. That 90% web is amazing.

for guristas you will want to use a navy domi ... some of them jam and drones will keep shooting. depending on your skills and the mission you may just want to do a high dps setup for faster completion. something like this works pretty good.

Magnetic Field Stabilizer II
Magnetic Field Stabilizer II

Large Capacitor Control Circuit I

Garde II x5
Ogre II x5
Hobgoblin II x5
Warden II x5

will do about 1300 dps
and tank 250 dps vs serps/gurista (minimum tank for experienced runner)

if you need more tank you can adjust the fit a bit or faction it up. but you can complete pretty much any mission in that setup if you kill the triggers right or focus on reducing incoming dps fast and whatnot(possibly dangerous if your unfamiliar with said mission). you could also drop 1 railgun to add a drone link augmentor too if you want to snipe more or if the situation calls for more range. a pretty versatile ship really.

was responding to the OP before I read all responses .. if u cant use rails u can do a blaster domi too ... it does some nasty dps ... basically same setup but with blasters. but you might be better off with a vindi if no t2 sentries.
