Replace Local Chat with Omnidirectional RADAR

EVE survival in 0.0 and losec requires a means of detecting your enemies or approaching danger. However, it seems like Local Chat is sort of an odd way to do it. It would be better if local chat were removed (like in WH space) but in its place, have some sort of system-wide omni-directional radar that simply gives an Enemies-detected warning...or neutrals-detected...depending on filter. It would have to be as useful as Local Chat now....give numbers and status (red, neut, etc) but without giving away ship types and stuff: that should be for scanning and real scout-work....

This game does need better sensors, you're very blind in this game. But your suggestion is just basally what we have now and putting it on a different panel.

That said it is annoying having to have local open when all I really want is a list of who's in system.

YES I LOVE IT.

I would like to see local gone and the directional scan turned into an always on 16 Au omnidirectional radar as you described.

Yeah. I can see your point. Still...seems a bit odd. I guess it would be nice, though, if they do keep local ...that you could at least filter it. Hard to detect WARDEC targets when you have to sift through 600 NPC neuts in Jita....LOL....and you know how much fun it is to let a WARDEC target have time to panic-warp to a station...to start the 'station games.' (sarcasm intended).

Another cool thing to have would be some sort of anchorable scan probe - that would simply flash a RED ALERT to you if a fleet jumped into its range: think deploying one at a WH while you are in that WH space....or at a gate three jumps over....LOL. Perhaps it wouldn't give you much information....just raw numbers or a simple: WARNING! WARNING! DANGER Will Robinson!!!! Before it got blown to pieces by the 5000-man gang coming at you.....LOL.
