Hello there fellow capsulers!

A question that I have wondered is if you can earn enough isk during a free trial to buy a plex before the trial is up. Has anyone else attempted this that has some tips? I am currently in Day 6 of this 21 day challenge and am posting daily updates to my Youtube account DemDogGaming. Any help is appreciated! Feel free to reply here or comment on videos! Yes you can, but working 21 days for what? $20? So far you said you have 6 days in, if you've only been playing 2 hours per day that is 12 hours. 20/12 = 1.6. So if you had enough RIGHT NOW you would have made $1.6 per hour. Not very good.

Worse, after you work 21 days for $20 and make it just in time, you will be dirt poor again and have to start all over.

If the process is fun for you, then go for it, but chances are you are turning EVE into a very bad paying job, and you'll just burn out. If $20 is that big of a problem, you are better off getting a part time job working 4 hours per week and then you can spend the rest of the month playing eve.

For an experienced player it would be easy, for someone that is completely new to the game, pretty hard.

However, on a more positive note : I know someome that took a long break and came back on a trial to have a look around. They managed to drum up the isk for a plex running around low sec belts looking for the rats that drop the sec status tags in maybe 2 - 3 hours a day.

TBH like Iria said, they would have been better just working an hour overtime and getting a plex but part of it was they wanted to have a look around, chat to old acquaintances and see what had changed. So, yes possible, but hard work unless you already know how things work.

aka. Not a true new player.

That trial isn't the New player part.

It's the NOT knowing the game mechanics that makes a new player a newbie...


If any player with knowledge and understanding makes a new trial, he doesn't change into a new player.
He still knows how mechanics work, he still know what to do, where stuff can be found etc. etc.

@ OP: Yes, it is possible. Will it be easy? Not at all. Will it be fun to do? That depends on what you find fun to do.

In general I agree with Iria. There are in my opinion more fun ways to spent time in EVE other then grinding ISK for a PLEX.

As Iria said, it will require a good amount of time to get that 600 / 650 million ISK for 1 month of sub (which if you look at RL costs you just 15 Euro / dollar).

And then me (and Iria too) don't even take into account you need extra ISK for ships / skills / modules / ammo or what so ever.

Basically, I will never recommend to use PLEX as a main way to sub your account. It can be done, but if it is your focus, it will likely turn EVE into a boring, bad paying 2nd job instead of a game.

I'm in game for 3 years, and I still pay my sub with a 6 month recurring subscription. If I ever find out I made a good amount of money with what ever it is I'm doing, then I drop a PLEX on my account (and thus postpone the recurring sub by 30 days). But it will never be my goal to PLEX my account. I rather have fun and spent 15 Euro then have to worry about making enough ISK.

Due to certain circumstances, i was forced into upgrading my trial account by buying a plex. I managed to buy the plex in just 3 days working as hard as i could. The source of income was faction warfare "plexing". Even tho i was only in a tier 1 faction i still managed to collect about 700mills in 3 days. So it's not impossible, you still have a lot of time ahead of you.

That said, i hated every moment of it, i only did it coz i had no other means to play the game.

And an other note is that i have played eve for 7 years on trial accounts ONLY so in thoses three days, i knew exactly what to do ( i am like semi-veteran in this game) therefore i don't think it will be as easy for a new player who is only just starting to take a grasp of the game to manage and earn enough isk to buy a plex in such short period.

Realy? you know you cant actualy join FW if you are on a trial account..... Only normal accounts can join fw

If you had taken time to check my employement history, you'd see that i joined a FW corporation which allowed me to participate in FW...
