So this ship's been stuck in a hole for 2 months?? I guess it isn't a capsuleer ship otherwised the pilot would just pod himself home...right?

Not necessarily, I'm afraid. When the Vector of Hope became an engineering casualty about six months back, I was faced with the choice of removing myself from the ship's systems and condemning the crew of the shattered cruiser to die in deep space, or hang in there with them, helping them get the damn thing limping back towards home.

This pilot may be in the same position. I believe an Anathema has a couple of crew.

Based on this Galnet information here, they most likely have three crew onboard, and the pilot. They probably do not want to abandon them if there is still a chance of rescue.

When transiting through Null from Providence back to Empire space, I received the following, weak but intelligible radio message that goes as follows:

****SNIP****
FROM: 00EA:A9FA658F

TIME SENT: 5239B1E0

PRI: CRIT

MESSAGE: #2 PWR TIE CKT TRIP...#2 TIE BUS LATCHED OFF...RETRY CNT EXCEEDED...STBY BUS LATCHED OFF...EMERG BTY DISCH...
****SNIP******

It sounded like an emergency message but I couldn't place who sent it or from where. Another apsuleer reported receiving it when she was in a Wormhole. Oddly enough I was scanning at the time and was also near a Wormhole message. But that's far as I've gotten in sorting this out. Perhaps someone with technical knowledge could decipher this?

Did you take a frame capture of your Neocom interface to confirm the veracity of the message received? (or like we used to say back at the Academy, pics or get out.)

Only a copy of the message received in my in box. In any event, I've not had a response to date from my attempt to respond back. I do appreciate everyone's help trying to sort this out and I think we know what happened at this point, if not the "who" and whether they were able to repair the ship and get out.

"From 00EA"

"From 234"

Wormhole Constellation 234.

Constellation 234: System Static is D364 to Class 2 (9 systems)
J230257, J223018, J135449, J133537, J155714, J112325, J150606, J110550, J205659

I think the remainder denotes some kind of coordinate value or maybe a Boolean operation of locus values that could triangulate a position.

All such systems also have A239 wormholes to lowsec. Perhaps communication between the ship and probes was lost? Otherwise the pilot could easily slip into kspace lowsec.

Ah so this was in a Neocom mail.

Probably a hoax then.

My FTL Comms got a Comparable message in the Khanid Kingdom, in the course of Routine duties for the Royal Navy: It read as follows, with my notes in brackets.

****SNIP****
FROM: ERROR 187 (Source Stamp Missing, Apparently)

TO: FTL FREQUENCY 5.685 THz, 78D:7db:15E (Unknown Target)

TIME: ERROR 188 (Time Stamp Missing)

[No PRI Code Recieve]

MESSAGE: [Some Message Missing]... #2 PWR GEN EXPL; #4 WRP OFLN; CPSL EJT ... (Some encryped Transmission)... SHLD REP, ARMR ONLN, MSLS ONLN; SCNG;... TRGTNG ID 0998789E... (Possibly a Capsule Signature, but to garbled to tell)... TORP LOD.... TGT DEST....

****MESSAGE TERMINATES****

Seems to me like a capsule relaying it's ships actions to me... Odd they relay through the pod's comms, rather that the ship's.. Prehaps their comms were broken?

The last 3 entrys seen to suggest torpedoes being fired at something... Prehaps just capsuleers duking it out, but that dosen't quite add up, given the transmission you revieved suggests mechanical failures

: #2 PWR TIE CKT TRIP, is apparently an old Navy comms code for Secondary Power Terminal Influx Emergency... Not sure what CKT is, but TRIP suggests an emergency circuit breaker was engaged.

I....would like to thank everyone for their assistance. As it so happened....I was the pilot whose Anathema experienced the power failure that resulted in the distress call mentioned here. After quite a bit of head-scratching, and with the help of some of those who responded, my crew was able to jury-rig the power circuits to get enough online to allow me to probe my way back to known space. Fortunately, God provides, as my very first attempt at probing after the temporary repairs found me two exits directly to low-security space, from which I was able to limp my ship back to be drydocked for more....permanent work, as well as investigation of the original failure.

Pilot Hadah,
I am glad our "crowd-sourcing" was able to assist you.
I am also glad to see this mystery resolved.
May God Bless your future travels.
