Eve Online client installation location

Hi there. I have an issue regarding where Eve Online gets installed on a Windows computer. First let me give a little bit of context so that my self-interested complaining doesn't come across as totally irrelevant and unimportant:

  • My computer has 2 HDDs. A small 80 GB drive for the operating system (Windows 7 Professional 64-bit) and a much larger 750 GB drive for everything else.

  • When I installed Eve Online, I naturally chose to put it on the larger HDD

  • When trying to clear some space on my OS drive recently, I came across a folder called "CCP" in the hidden "ProgramData" folder on my OS drive.

  • The "CCP" folder is 12.8 GB in size.

  • So here's my issue: Why is there 12.8 GB worth of Eve Online stored away on my OS drive when I chose to install the game on the other drive, and is there any way to re-install with the entire game on the other hard drive?

The installer will download the temp files for the patch/client into a folder, like the one in Programdata, and then install it to the directory of your choice from there.

The Wiki says you can delete it for drive space.

    Quote:
The client updates are also stored within this folder, in subdirectories named similar to the cache folders of the according clients. The following examples for Windows assume the client to be installed in "C:\Program Files\CCP\EVE":

    Windows Vista/7: %PROGRAMDATA%\CCP\EVE\c_program_files_ccp_eve_tranquility
    Windows XP: %ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Application Data\CCP\EVE\c_program_files_ccp_eve_tranquility
    German Windows XP: %ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Anwendungsdaten\CCP\EVE\c_program_files_ccp_eve_tranquility
    MacOS X: ~/Library/Application Support/EVE Online Preferences/p_drive/All Users/Application Data/CCP/c_program_files_ccp_eve_tranquility
These folders can be safely deleted for space. If client updates are deleted and there is currently one available, the client will download the latest client update again.
