At the moment there seems to be a confused game mechanic about Freighter Containers - would be good to get it sorted out

ATM if a go to a POS hanger with a freighter with freighter containers in my cargo hold I can open the freighter container and take items out of the container and place in the POS hanger division from my cargo hold

However I can not do the reverse - that is take items from the POS hanger and place in the freighter container in my cargo hold which to me seems a bit contradictory.

An example of this is when I jump out to my miners with supplies for them - the containers allowed me to drop the supplies in the hanger division but I am unable to pick up the miners compressed ores on th ereturn out trip

Either the containers should be completly sealed and only accessable in stations or should be able to be open and items moved both ways.

A freighter's sole purpose is a logistic supply ship - moving goods from A to B and back again -

My request is not that they can pick up cans and wrecks or loot floating around in space but that they should be able to operate POS hangers back and forth with their freighter containers in their cargo hold

ATM they can operate POS hangers direct from cargo hold to hanger and back again to cargo hold - nothing wrong with that and this fulfills their logistic role purpose.

However the game allows you to open a freighter container located inside the cargo hold and take supplies out but strangely doesn't allow you to put things back in the freighter container from the hanger (although it does allow you to put items from the hanger directly into your cargo hold).

This means the freighter pilot can be nice and organised with seperate miner supplies for example on the inbound trip to the POS hanger - easily sorting different players supplies into respective hanger divisions from individual freighter containers in the cargo hold - but then has to dump the now empty and useless freighter container into the hanger and pull all the different miners ores out of their seperate divisions and dump them all together in the freighter container's cargo hold - (of course using pencil paper/screen shots/excel to record each individual miners ore count first atm)

The proposal to allow items to be placed from the hanger into freighter containers located inside the freighter's cargo hold wouldn't change whether how freighters are used, it wouldn't shift 'how to win eve' in any particular direction - it would make players jobs in charge of logistics easier and it would be sensible

You can put the freighter container into a POS Hanger but you can not then open it - to either put items into the container or to take items out of the container

I would be very happy if it was possible - as it would allow POS hangers to split up as well - but that is really for another different discussion
