Tippia will probably argue that you are wrong about this.

Tippia would post something with an alt and argue against the alt if there was no one on the forums making some contentious statement.

We've already got a fearsome Fedo invasion to handle.

You don't need aliens to create an invasion scenario, there is at least two races already in the lore that would be a lot more accessible/easy-to-swallow for both CCP and players:

There is the Jove who chose a life of seclusion based on some daft idea of purity or other. Whether they invade or the Empires invade makes little difference, although the latter is the easier sale as Eve is getting cramped and we need MOAR! space.

There is Earth. Humanity left to its own devices, struggling with resource scarcity and basic human nature. Probably has a Dyson sphere up by now to accommodate the overpopulation as well as a limited gate network to nearby systems .. now some mad scientist comes up with the jaws-of-life that reopens the Eve-Gate and hell flows through.

In short: Aliens at this point could only ever be seen as a Deus Ex Machina, aka. brain-fart from a writers-block, aka. a cop out, aka........

I was under the impression sleepers were neither human nor created by humans, which would make them alien in origin

sleepers are descendants of the original humans similar to the jove and all the other wormhole species. they just, like the other wormhole species, are heavily modified and borderline extinct, in their instance being completely submersed in a virtual environment.

sansha, or at least his "citizens", are mostly abducted humans during incursions that converts them into will-suppressed, psychopathic, cyborg killing machines. think "the borg" from star trek mixed with the "reavers" from firefly.

couldnt be the jove anymore than it could be one of the wormhole species.

as far as lore says, they are all suffering from one thing or another driving them all extinct, Jove have their genetic disease that is their own damn fault.
sleepers have issues with people attacking their enclaves, enclaves shutting down due to power failure, and if i recall they are stillg etting attacked by that one weird ass Deus Ex Machina style group (didnt that same group also have a hand in the extinction of the Takhmahl and the Yan-Jung?)

so if anything, it would either be the "big Mystery Guys" from wormholes, or to a lesser likelihood whatever is left of the Terran Empire.

Most of what I wanted to say has been said already. The Jove are prime candidates to be the antagonists of an "alien" invasion, since their genetic tomfoolery has left them rather... distant from other humans. They may be forced to result to genetic harvesting in order to save their race. Guess who're the crop?

There's also the "other" shadow faction that has been briefly mentioned in some old EvE lore, the Enheduanni. Apparentely they're the Jove's greatest enemy, and no longer count as human although their origins are there.

And we're not dealing with a Fedo invasion, but a Fedo infestation. Too bad there aren't any half-capable exterminators in New Eden.

Game doesn't need more NPC's... it needs more players to get off their buttox and "Do Unto Others", more often.

You should have Sleepers start invading High Sec, Low Sec and Null...but much MUCH more frequent than incursions, and much much harder.

Naturally these attacks would be more frequent on the outer edges of the Forge.

The answer is no. Eve is not made for this. You want aliens go play sto then. Aliens we are the only "advance" species in the universe. There are no others out there. If the going to get aliens this game will be not the same any more.

I would like to see an alien invasion at some point in the future, with actual aliens, not descendents from humans.

I would also like the invasion to actually mean something. Everyone should be affected by it, pirates, mission runners, miners, traders.. all will have to fight them off or face destruction. After a few months, a one-time-only event should take place where a huge fleet of alien ships go to Jita (and the surrounding systems) to take it over, and it will require hundreds of player-controlled ships to defeat them.

thats awfully racist, inviting things into your galaxy then complaining about how they all need to be destroyed because a couple of them are killing us off and ruining our economy

I wish that CCP had the balls to do this.

This is a great idea. All the players from all nations working together to battle an alien menace. Maybe attacking normal stations? Chaos! **** the market.

Players are afraid of change.

Nah. The robot settlers we sent ahead of us wiped them all out and didn't tell us. The Milky Way, for better or worse, is a human galaxy.

Nothing to do with fear of change. It would just add nothing to the game. And would massively reduce the sandbox turning it into a theme park.

Oh I don't know… Sansha come pretty darn close at times in a transhumanist kind of way. Oh, and now that you're on the inside, could you at least give a hint on how close people have gotten to figuring out the sleepers? P

Anyway, I'm talking about the mechanics, which do pretty much exactly what the OP is asking for.
