EVE General Discussion

Just wanted to give a big o7 to CCP for the awesome and fun experience yesterday. The event was well explained and a good experience was had by all.

For those of you who didn't hear, we started out in high and were given frigs to fly in. Nothing fancy, just some T1 fitted Merlins that we wouldn't feel too bad getting killed in. We were told several times to update clones and use a clone without implants because we would most likely get podded. The excitement in chat was palpable.

It took a bit to find an appropriate wormhole, but we didn't mind much. We got to see what a fleet warp was like, we were taught good fleet etiquette, and told what to expect on "the other side." We were given a quick run down on fleet pvp too probably because there were several reports that a T3 fleet with logistics was following us.

The T3's eventually caught up to us in the wormhole and several of us were killed before CCP Gargant could get us to a safe spot. Then the unthinkable happened. He negotiate for our release by singing "Barbie Girl" for the enemy fleet. The 25 Tengus and Proteuses were left speechless and immediately retreated. And yes, it was twitch streamed.

After demolishing a sleeper site, CCP Gargant decided he wanted to go "even deeper!" into a C5 so we could all go out in a blaze of glory. But to everyone's surprise, we prevailed. I think we had ~10 casualties total to the sleeper sites. So we had a big FFA at the site killed each other. Although I am a little bummed I didn't get a CCP killmail (I was one of the few who died in the sleeper sites, tried to speed tank in my MWD Condor, dang neuts...), I have to say it was the BEST time I've ever had in my 6 month stay in Eve.
