Yes. And it was, as I said, your own obscurity in so obliquely not directly linking that statement to the previous use of "Ludicrous Speed". That is obscure, sorry. And 2 posts above your statement to boot. Your sudden use of simply "Brooks", without context, implied the possible existence of someone else utterly named Brooks.

It's almost a Troll actually. Lol

Put battleship in courier contract > assign to red frog.

Go and do something else you find amusing.

Autopilot to your battleship location in a ceptor.

So is an AU.

That said, light speed is about 1/AU per 7-8 minutes. Most of your time in warp travel is spent accelerating and decelerating.

It would be more immersive if there were no stargates and you could just warp directly to any point in the galaxy.

Clearly, with upcoming warp speeds of 20 AU/sec and more that'll reduce travel times to mere days,
instead of weeks.

I definitely see the advantage of this.

Dude if you travel 1 PC a sec, you go faster see ?

If you travel 1 pc per second you overshoot Alpha Centauri in a second, starting from the sun.

If you travel 1 pc per second you can get from Tenal to Paragon Soul (northernmost to southernmost points in the map, roughly) in about 32 seconds.

Enjoying the rain today? ;)

Do not try and warp the battleship. That's impossible. Instead, only realize the truth... THERE IS NO BATTLESHIP. Then you will see that it not the ship that warps, it is yourself.

I hope everyone realizes that there is little if any relationship between the way a spaceship would really behave and the way it is depicted in Eve! In fact Eve is probably the least reliable source for any physical effect in space.

Spaceships in Eve behave like submarines, as they slow down when the engines are turned off. In reality a spaceship is closer to a puck on ice - you do not slow down by turning off the main engines. To slow down in space, you need retro-rockets, or use of a planet or sun's gravity or be able to turn around and fire the engines or to hit something!.

Also, firing any weapon, mining, explosions or screaming would all silent, sound needs a medium to move through and there isn't one in space. There may be some internal spaceship vibration type noise, from actions your spaceships does - but certainly no whooshing.

To hammer my point - Contrails (if able to be seen at all) would not be straight and cylindrical, rocket exhaust, if it didn't become cool and invisible in microseconds would be affected by gravity from even small or distant sources, clumping with other exhaust particles and rapid expansion if a gas. So depending upon the type of reaction mass used, it would be a rough cone shape from the rocket exhaust that would be too cold to see once it was a few seconds old.

Of course warping and jumping are theoretical effects and not much can be said about how unrealistic that is in Eve.

It matters not.

Warp AU speed used to be twice as fast as currently, but was nerfed by half around 2005 or 6 and with good reason.

So this thread is both pointless and useless, and the matter was settled more than 7 years ago. 7.

"Yeah we are going to have to go right to LUDICROUS speed!"

Current we use AU as a means of warping between gates, it takes such a long time to travel using AU, can we introduce Parsecs PC/sec for battleships??? It took me over an hour to travel 30 jumps. While it's fun to just watch spaceballs while clicking each gate during long travel times it really kills immersion.

How would people feel about having AU and Parsecs as a travel speed? I would pay ISK to travel faster. I would pay Aurum.

What I don't understand is why battleships are almost as slow as a titan, my rattlesnake goes 112 m/s, while a ragnarok which is much larger goes 80 m/s. The physics in eve are brain dead ********.
