Hi,

I've been playing EvE for a little over a month now, and the one thing that keeps bugging this newbie, are the combat sounds, the guns.

I'd like to fly frigates and destroyers too, but the small blasters and rails just sound so annoying, clack clack clack, pff. It's not all that much better on cruisers either. I rushed to get a battleship with poor overall and support skills, just to confirm that this game does not even try to have exciting weapon sounds regardless of the size. I trained and tried projectile turrets to medium size too, just to hear them and no luck there either.

I think it's a real shame, it would really make the combat more exciting, having some boom in the turrets beginning with frigates and all the way up the ship line. I really believe it would be one of those additions that could potentially hold on to new players better too, underestimating the power of sound effects is an easy mistake to make when you are figuring out what to improve. Exciting sounds create excitement (try watching an action movie with sounds off).

I tried to post on some of the existing topics about this but I could not reply there for some reason, and some people used excuses like there's no sound in space, and you only hear the sound through hull, and whatnot but it's not a realistic game to begin with yes?

The new boomier sounds should not be hardcoded into the game so people could have their preference, I'd rather see a slider for weapon sounds like: Minimal sounds - Average sounds - Boom boom mega blaster turbo sounds.

I'm talking about the weapon sounds only here, the music is nice, and the other sounds are quite good also, at least in comparison to my cannons which sound like throwing stones on a wooden wall. The exception to this are missiles, they sound fine, I'm tempted to go missile boats just because they sound better.
