I like the idea suspect flagging the orca used to reship. BUT this is only gives difficulty to player who change ship from orca. If orca has warp core stabs and already allinged to somwhere ? Pliot change ship then orca warp off. This gonna happen when orca has suspect flag.

it wouldnt, it is supposed to be a fair and.. *scoff* honourable duel between two pilots...

Wouldn't that require the participants to drop out of their fleets (if they are in a fleet) to prevent boosting and stuff?
This would be truly an enforcement mechanic but on that would bring "honor" and "fairnes" to these fights.

If I got this wrong (the fleet stuff) please enlighten me with the correct information.

This is greate idea. Player should not be in fleet during duel. This is complate solution. I like it.

Edit: I just realize, if the duel guy and orca in same corp they can change ship anyway.

I'd be happy with the orca going suspect, but flat out prevention would be too far imo.

What game have you been playing? There is no fair in eve, just varying levels of imbalance

The problem is you misunderstand how an Orca can help someone reship.
They do not dock with the orca or use a fitting service on the orca to change ships.

The Orca drops an empty prefitted ship.
Anyone may enter this ship.
The pilot you were fighting ejected from his own ship, happened to get into the ship before you locked his pod, and you also failed to lock his now derelict ship that he was in previously.
The orca then scooped a random empty ship that has no owner.

At no point did the Orca pilot directly interact with the pilot in a duel.
At no point did he give specific aid to the pilot.
And you can stop him scooping the empty ship by locking it.

ok - way to stop this - once you have an active weapons timer - you can't board an empty ship

so we have a problem - whoever shoots first in a duel is at a disadvantage, as the other person can board an empty T3 and melt you.....

maybe if you have a capsuleer combat timer - you can't board an empty ship...... this would have to be applicable solely in HS, otherwise it'd screw up (part of) the point of carriers and motherships.....

For posting an idea into F&I: come up with idea, try and think how people could abuse this, try to fix your idea - loop the process until you can't see how it could be abused, then post to the forums to let us figure out how to abuse it..... If your idea can be abused, it WILL be.

As always, this gets a "no" from me.

"Fairness" as a concept should not be mechanically enforced because the term is entirely subjective to begin with.

CCP disagrees with you, since anyone who remote assists a person with a limited engagement timer gets a suspect flag. If they weren't a fan of using mechanics for "fairness", they would not have messed with neutral RR on engagements.

A suspect flag for giving remote repair assistance in a duel is not a "mechanical enforcement"... that's a penalty. A "mechanic enforcement" would be preventing anyone from RRing in the first place.

I agree with ShahFluffers. Imposing a penalty is fine, preventing this kind of thing, no. Very little about Eve is "fair".

No. Preventing things is Badâ„¢, generally speaking. Imposing some sort of penalty such as a suspect flag is more reasonable.
