So umm just have a question that maybe some of you or Mr. CCP Abraxas could answer:
The Jove are the creators of capsule technology - so why are their numbers dwindling and their civilization slowly dying since they could use the capsule to become pseudo-immortals like the rest of the capsuleers?
Granted the Jovian Disease is genetic so the new clone would also exhibit signs of it at some point in time but then they could clone-jump to a new clone thus basically restarting the process.
But even then they could clone-jump into a non-Jovian clone - they are human so their physiology is identical to the other humans in New Eden (as far as I know there's nothing stopping a Caldari capsuleer from having an Amarr clone ready for synch).
The neural scanner copies the "image" of the brain not it's biological composition and thus the new Jovian pilot should exhibit no signs of it after synch.

Granted the capsule technology came before the brain scanner and synch - and this begs another question : are the Jove still suffering from their disease or it has been eradicated or at least did the the improved capsule technology gave the Jove a "work-around" ?

I feel like the Jovians had a much more important reason for giving us the capsule tech than just being charitable and gaining a little information.

Perhaps they use the capsules to learn more about us- after all, it's their tech.

Also, every member of the Jovian corps in the game are ethnically different races- I think you're on to something with the cone theory- maybe that's also involved.

Regardless, the Jovians are alive and kicking, as an empire. X-Sense and Genolution are Jovian corps and are active in empire space- Geno even gives us free implants! There's definitely more going on behind the scenes- I would love for the Jovians to be expanded upon more.

The obsession that seems prevalent in this part of the forums with 'unmasking' the Jove is boring. The Jove are the 'monster' (or one of the monsters along with Earth people, re-opening the Eve gate etc), once the 'monster' is shown, the narrative game is up as is the fictional intrigue and mystery and New Eden becomes a less, not more interesting place. This is a basic rule of scripting and narrative.

Much like the deflation the child feels after it has opened its Christmas presents in one short, furious flurry, unmasking all the secrets of New Eden will only lead to disappointment and dissatisfaction. Shine a light into the darkest corners once in a while but don't blast a searchlight into every area of shade and shadow.

Dear Nami Kumamato,

The truth is that CCP must keep jovians at bay, otherwise they would obliterate us and that would be the end of EVE online :). When jovians get close to curing their disease CCP secretly spread a new and stronger form of disease on them. CCP is our guardian angel here, hope that gives the answer you are looking for :)
