a noob question about plex

So I have some isk... I'm sure, enough to buy at least 2 plex at 600m@ (of course I'm gonna look for the cheapest one on the market that I can access easily).
My question:
I don't wanna fly around with plex in the hold and I have about over a week of game time left. Can I go get plex and use both at the same time? Will that then bring my current game time to 60 days + what I have left on my account now?

Also, is there a limit on how many plex a character can consume at one time?

You can use a PLEX anywhere in the universe. Just look it up in your assets and use it. The only reason to move them or go to them is to sell them.

There is no limit on how many PLEX you use. Each one adds 30 days of game time to your current account and they naturally stack.

Just to emphasize, once purchased a PLEX can be accessed from your asset listing and activated. You could be 100 jumps away from the place your PLEX is and you can activate it.

So if the above is true, why in Eden do peeps insist on attempting to transport these things around?

Some people are stupid in excess. Some might use it for all-purpose whitewashing.
Also, some people might have bought them at one location, and then desire to move it to another location where it can be sold.

You don't have to fly around with them in your cargo if you plan on selling them. Just redeem them back into the system when you buy them, fly to where you want to sell them from, then redeem them back into the game.

Never undock with a PLEX in your cargo, in any ship. Someone is bound to scan you, and you will die because of it and lose your PLEX and your ship.

Just a quick note, that isn't a noob question. A noob question would be how do I join goons or dock my space ship :P

Yes you can add one PLEX after another to your account, and it will add 30 days every time. So if today you added 10 PLEX, you would have 300 days subscription plus whatever is currently on your account. PLEX is not refundable however, you can't change subscription time back into PLEX, so be sure that's what you want to do.

Also as has been pointed out before, there is absolutely no reason to haul PLEX around in your cargo. The ASSETS window can be used to search for any PLEX you own, and right clicking on it will bring up the "Add game time to account" option. You don't have to be in the same system.

You have clearly never used your own advice. If you had, you would know that the above doesn't work and isn't true.

When you redeem an item back into the game it appears where it was redeemed from no matter what your current location is.


There is rarely a reason to ever move a plex out of a station. It can be used from anywhere.

I'd personally prefer to be in the same station with the PLEX anyway in case I have multiples. I recently faced the scenario where I wanted to use one for 30 days game time and another for dual character training, but I was afraid applying the command to the stack would use both PLEX instead of just one.

It doesn't. It uses a single one just fine.

But I did try to use the second one on the third slot and it went to the second slot too, even though I did press the button for the third slot. So maybe there are issues using the asset list.

Support fixed it almost in real time (+1 CCP!). But next time I'll do a relog before, just to be safer.
