Disclaimer: This is just something I was thinking about last night while trying to sleep. It is purely an attempt to begin a discussion between players.

The thought was to turn all Empire Space into Faction Warfare space. It involves changes in NPC corporations etc. Empire Space denotes both High and Low security systems.

1. Every player in an NPC corporation is automatically enrolled in their faction's militia.

2. While in an NPC corporation the player can not switch to an opposing militia.

3. Most, if not all, NPC navy would be removed, thus allowing the militia to protect their faction's space. There could be some NPC navy ships flying around? Maybe invading enemy space at times?

4. If a player in the militia attacks another player in the same militia within Empire space, that player is kicked out of the militia for a period of time, say 48 hours. They could be placed in a holding corporation until their penance is over, and are labelled as outlaws, thus are allowed to be attacked by that militia until the time period is over. The character flagged as an outlaw can not be biomassed until the 48 hours is over. Attack a fellow militia member enough times in Empire space, and the player is permanently barred from re-joining the militia.

5. If a player in a player corporation attacks a militia member in Empire space, they and the corporation to which they belong, including all its members, are labelled as outlaws for a period of time, and are allowed to be attacked by that militia. Attack militia members enough times in Empire space and that corporation, along with all its members, are permanently flagged as enemies of that Faction, thus would be allowed to be attacked by the militia at will.

6. Allow militia capital ships in Empire Space.

7. Empire sov mechanics for all Empire systems. Not sure what those mechanics would be.

8. CONCORD rules would still apply regarding players not in the militia, within High security space. This has to do with players in player corporations not enrolled in Faction Warfare.

I know this is not the greatest idea, but maybe some of you wonderful EVE players will latch on and run with it. Big smile

Well it would make all the people hiding from war decs in npc corps scream bloody murder!

I decided I don't like a constantly evolving game anymore..... It requires too much reading!

Forcing all players outside of player corporations to be enrolled in Faction Warfare is a bad idea.

All PvP in eve is "opt in" with the notable exception of High Security ganking. The default state for new players is "opt out" because everyone is in a newbie corp when they first start playing. Your proposal would essentially remove the ability to "opt out" of PvP and the damage to new player uptake, in-game economy, in-game politics, etc... would be extreme.

jeah! force everyone starting with the game to factional warefare with the first log in. bloody brilliant idea.

to make it clear: this was sarcasm. i dont like your suggestion. it doesnt make any sense to me, it doesnt seem to include anything that would make eve a better game for anyone.
it just appears to be something that just entered your mind and witch you spammed here without realy thinking it through in the first place.

you do know when you leave a player corp you have to rest in an npc corp, right.

What if your player in question is a 0.0 burn out, wants to give fw a go and wants minmatar but is amarr? Kind of making it a pita to do this if dumped eternally to amarr npc corps and can't switch sides.

Just what fw needs....to be flooded by 1000 new one man corps per faction as it be the only way for a single player to join FW out of their chars' day one chosen faction. Believe it or not...some of us who aren't sad role players do not care about our chars ancestry and such. Kind of why eve's whole open ended sandbox idealogy works very well for us. We go where our wants and desires take us.
